AUTHOR BIO:

Sue Watkins is a firm believer in the old adage, “It’s never too late, if you have a dream”. In the 5th grade, writing a short story where the boy and girl actually kissed, got her into a lot of trouble with her teachers and parents. Thus, her wanting to write began. You have to remember that back in the 50’s, it was quite a different time than it is now.
Her writing career would be curtailed for many years with getting married so young. Becoming an avid reader and accumulating over 7,000 books in her personal library, replaced her longing to write. Married for 43 years and raising five children kept her busy. As a child, her family moved a lot. From Minnesota, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Iowa, the family roamed. After her marriage she and her husband moved from Pendleton, Oregon to Seattle and now Idaho, where they currently reside.
Attending her youngest child’s graduation in 2002, she heard several young speakers say in different words, but meaning just the same. “If you want to do something, do it, don’t procrastinate. If you do start, finish it. If you don’t, you will be sorry for it later.”
Sue started writing the novel she’d put off for almost 30 years.
In her debut book, This One Is Mine, she gives her heroine a nickname ‘Lead Foot Suzy’. This is the same name her family and friends gave to her when she started to drive, and she continues to live up to her nickname. She enjoys doing body work on cars, painting cars, the same as her heroine. Sue’s plan was to write a simple romance, ending with a race between the heroine’s 64 ½ Mustang, and the hero’s 57 Chevrolet. However, it ballooned into an extra special story, with some fantastic characters. Meanwhile, her daughter’s problems in junior high, where she was ridiculed about her clothes, even though they were bought in one of the most exclusive shops, and the shootings in the high schools. She ended up addressing both of these problems in her story.
This is a 'debut' novel Sue is very proud to have written.
Her second novel, Take A Chance, is finished. It should be
coming out soon. Several more stories are plotted out ready to be
written and Grey's story is definitely at the top of the list. Each
novel will stand on its own, but are considered to be a true continuing
series. Sue hopes she has written her novel well enough so a reader will
have a good feeling when they come to the end of her story. Maybe they
will ask then, "Where is the next one?"
