My first game I wrote is called "Gopher Hunt", which I created back in 1991.

This is the title page for the game. It contains animations of the gopher's eyes peaking at you, then disappearing in a hail of gunfire. Then you ride the golf cart across the screen to begin your job. KILL THE GOPHERS THAT ARE DESTROYING THE GOLF COURSE. I was inspired by the movie Caddyshack at the time.

Here is Hole #1. The gopher holes are random. Special objects worth points also fly across the screen, or drop from above that you can shoot. Here, a gopher is getting it in the head. You only have 25 bullets to kill 20 gophers on this hole. Miss too many gophers and you get fired!

There is also a map screen, which plots your progress across the golf course. Each hole has its own picture which matches the map screen for the background.

And this is the winning screen. It features text moving across the screen telling you what level you attained. (I was a 'Marksman' in this game.) The more points you get the better your level. There is also a high scores table which is saved to disk.
I also digitized my own voice for some of the sounds, plus I used real digitized gunshot sounds. There is an Easy, Normal, and Hard level. Each difficulty level makes the uses a different gun with a different size crosshair.

I then created a game I called Saavy. It is a knock-off of the Connect Four game. It features Digitized Music.

But, it is larger and asteroid chips and multi-color chips can fall into the grid, as well as chip destroying fireballs! You also get extra points for getting more than one connect 4 (or more) in a row.

You can get extra points by dropping your chips consistently faster than your opponent. When one player wins with at least 4 in a row, the flight path of the space ship is plotted across the galaxy. If you spent more time than your opponent, they can get bonus points.

The longer you take to drop your chip can give your opponent bonus points. Here, the blue player received 3 extra points for dropping his chips faster than the red player.

There is the winners screen. Blue player has won this day!

I then remembered a game I wrote on my first computer, a TI-99 4/A. I though, that was a fun game, so I will re-make it on the ST.

And the Galactic Miner was created. Basically, you dig around underground and try to pick up as many minerals as you can.

On the 'Land Pick' screen, you drive to different areas, and based on the colors in the grid you pick (White = highest concentrations, Brown = medium, Green = lowest) will determine the richness of the plot you mine. This plot was a 5 (1-8 range). Sitting still costs you money. Moving costs even more. If you run out of money, you must mine the spot you ran out of money at.

Here, the miner in the center of the screen is blowing away a section of dirt on the moon style planet.
Several animations and digitized sounds make the game fun.

Then, when you start running out of energy, or TNT, head back to the shack and unload. On the Shack screen you can buy more TNT, Clones, etc.. You can even buy passage to the next planet to mine when this one is used up.
The Clone will give you
another life.
The Droid will protect your shack from one bandit.
The Shack will allow you to mine a different location when this lode is empty.
Save your game located under the sleeping cot.
The Big copy machine looking thing is where you sell your ore. The bigger the
load, the bigger the bonus.
The computer will allow you to book passage to another planet.
The hatch down will let you back into the mine.
The door outside will let you go to a different location on the map. You must
have bought a shack first.
The light switch will allow you to exit the game.

Here the player is driving away from an empty mine on a forested planet.
You also need to beware of the monster, thieves, and landslides. If you blast a lot, or get a heavy pack, these events happen more often.

My last game I made was The Deep Space Operation.

It is completely a strategy game with few animations. But there is a lot of digitized sounds. It is a two player game where each player takes a turn playing their side.

This is the in-game manual. Using it will explain how to play the game.
There are multiple screens for planet and fleet actions. All controlled from the keyboard.

Here we have the main map screen. Player two (right side) is taking his turn. All keys are displayed on every screen to help you along. This player has three fleets of varying strength and owns two planets which you can build from or research technology. The border runs down the center that damages ships passing it. Your enemy starts on the opposite side of you.

On this screen you control the actions of each individual planet. Fleet 1 has just been created and contains 300 each of attack and defensive value. The planet itself has a 521 point attack and defensive value. There are 1911 build points left on this planet. The map under the planet tells you where in the galaxy the planet resides.

On this screen you control the actions of the selected fleet. It is fleet one from the planet screen above.

The information screen gives you information about your galactic empire.

On this screen you control your fleet as it attacks a planet. The planet and fleet strengths are shown. If you knock the planet down enough, you will gain control of that planet.

End of turn screen. I think this is my best game!
