| Introduction | ||||||||||
| The Musket and Cannon Game Club was formed in March 2009 to allow wargamers to play computer games | ||||||||||
| which span the early gunfire period to include the Musket and Pike era to the Seven Years War and American | ||||||||||
| Revolution, and War of Texas Independence and Mexican-American Wars. | ||||||||||
| These wars involved smaller armies than the Napoleonic or American Civil Wars and are best represented | ||||||||||
| under their own club. | ||||||||||
| Regardless of the game engine or company, any game that is turn-based can be included in the club that | ||||||||||
| is included in the above wars to include the Wars of the Austrian Sucession. | ||||||||||
| The goal of the club is to allow gamers to find opponents through either direct email contact or the forum | ||||||||||
| or by army challenges. | ||||||||||
| Conduct: | ||||||||||
| All members should conduct themselves in a manner that is gentlemanly and in strict observation | ||||||||||
| of respect for the other members in the club. Forum or email contact with other members should be of a | ||||||||||
| professional nature and avoid personal/character attacks on members or existing nations. | ||||||||||
| In case of disputes the two members should contact their superior officers to settle the issue. | ||||||||||
| Armies | ||||||||||
| Each member is allowed to pick an army as long as the needs of the club are met. If an army is low on | ||||||||||
| members then new members will be allocated to fill the open ranks as needed. | ||||||||||
| Recruiting of members is encouraged! Bonus points will be awarded to each member that brings someone | ||||||||||
| into the club. | ||||||||||
| Currently we have two armies: | ||||||||||
| Austrian | ||||||||||
| Spainish | ||||||||||
| Game Scoring: | ||||||||||
| Each game falls into one of the below categories: | ||||||||||
| Battles - you play a member that is in an opposing army. | ||||||||||
| Maneuver - you play a member in the same army. This includes training games but see below. | ||||||||||
| Tournament - you play a member in a tournament regardless of armies. | ||||||||||
| Each game is scored on the following schedule: | ||||||||||
| (Turns played/3 * Size Modifier) + Victory Level Modifier (final count - fractions rounded up) | ||||||||||
| Size Modifiers: | (this can increase as reinforcements arrive and must be calculated after the battle is underway) | |||||||||
| Small | 1 | 0-9,999 men on larger side in scenario | ||||||||
| Medium | 1.25 | 10,000-29,999 men on larger side in scenario | ||||||||
| Large | 1.5 | 30,000-59,999 men on larger side in scenario | ||||||||
| Super Large | 1.75 | 60000+ men on larger side in scenario | ||||||||
| Victory Level Modifiers: | ||||||||||
| Major Victory | 5 | |||||||||
| Minor Victory | 4 | |||||||||
| Draw | 3 | |||||||||
| Minor Defeat | 2 | |||||||||
| Major Defeat | 1 | |||||||||
| Example: | ||||||||||
| Two members play a game of Wien, 12 October 1529 from The Renaissance. | ||||||||||
| There are 77,000 Turks vs. 9,000 Europeans therefore this is a Large size scenario. | ||||||||||
| The players finish all 12 turns. The Turks score a Minor Victory. | ||||||||||
| Here would be the points awarded to each player. | ||||||||||
| Turks | (12/3*1.5)+4 = 10 points | |||||||||
| Europeans | (12/3*1.5)+2 = 8 points | |||||||||
| Tournament Bonus | Replaces the Size Modifier in the normal calculation | |||||||||
| Size Battle | ||||||||||
| Small | 1.25 | |||||||||
| Medium | 1.5 | |||||||||
| Large | 1.75 | |||||||||
| Super Large | 2 | |||||||||
| Players that abandon games do not earn points. Their opponent would get a Major Victory. | ||||||||||
| The game would be scored based on the last turn completed and Size Modifier. | ||||||||||
| Campaign Points | ||||||||||
| Number of Battles | Bonus Points | |||||||||
| 1 to 2 | 4 | |||||||||
| 3 to 4 | 6 | |||||||||
| 5 to 6 | 8 | |||||||||
| 7 or more | 10 | |||||||||
| The victor of a campaign gets an additional 5 points. | ||||||||||
| Recruitment: | ||||||||||
| Each member recruited nets a member 5 points. | ||||||||||
| The points will be awarded three months after the member joins. | ||||||||||
| The member must complete at least one game during this time period. | ||||||||||
| Suggestion: play them in a short scenario to get them off to a good start! | ||||||||||
| Conduct Points: | ||||||||||
| Certain members of the club will get conduct points for performing duties for the club. They are: | ||||||||||
| Webmasters | 30 points | |||||||||
| Game Forms | 30 points | |||||||||
| CinC | 30 points | |||||||||
| All other Leaders | 20 points | |||||||||
| Tournament Director | 30 points | |||||||||
| Unlike other clubs we do not have a Cabinet. We do not feel that one is needed. | ||||||||||
| Differences will be settled by CinCs and changes to the club structure will be discussed | ||||||||||
| openly but in a brief manner. Members will vote on changes on a quarterly basis but | ||||||||||
| in order that we don’t make drastric changes that could adversely affect our club we | ||||||||||
| will only adopt those changes that we all feel will most benefit the club. | ||||||||||
| Changes of officers | ||||||||||
| Clubs get stale if the same people remain in charge too long unless the membership is happy with | ||||||||||
| the setup. Elections for CinC for each army will be yearly. Candidates will be posted on the forum | ||||||||||
| before an appointed deadline. March will be election month for the club. | ||||||||||
| Members can nominate themselves or another member. | ||||||||||
| Ballots will be sent to an appointed Election Committee who will count the ballots after the | ||||||||||
| elections are closed. | ||||||||||
| Officers can be removed from office during the club year only by a 2/3 majority vote by special election | ||||||||||
| by that army. | ||||||||||
| Basically they will have to really anger a lot of people in order to be removed. | ||||||||||
| If the other CinC feels that the removal is not in the best interests of the club then he can veto the special | ||||||||||
| election until the next annual election occurs. A brief must be prepared to the other army's members | ||||||||||
| stating why the CinC should remain in office. | ||||||||||
| Webmasters need to be timely with updating their army website. | ||||||||||
| CinCs may have to get a new Webmaster if their's goes AWOL. They are encouraged to keep a copy of the | ||||||||||
| website for safekeeping. | ||||||||||
| Notification by any member of absences over a month are required in writing to the CinC of the army and | ||||||||||
| immediate leader as applicable. | ||||||||||
| Mustering | ||||||||||
| Each member including the CinC is required to Muster once every three months. Muster months are June, | ||||||||||
| September, December and March. A forum thread will be started during the first four days of the Muster Month. | ||||||||||
| Members will respond to the thread with a simple "Here" or an account of a game they are in. They may also email | ||||||||||
| their CinC as well. | ||||||||||
| Members that fail to muster will be placed on Probation. If the member fails to muster in the next quarter they will be | ||||||||||
| removed from the club roll. All points will be lost. | ||||||||||
| Members are encouraged to keep a separate count of their points just in case the website is lost or inaccurate. We will | ||||||||||
| do our best at HQ to keep the game forms moving in a timely manner. | ||||||||||
| Game forms - the club HQ will process all New Game forms on Wednesday nights. All End Game forms will be processed | ||||||||||
| on Sunday nights. Members will avoid harrassing HQ about game forms. We will do the best we can to get the game data | ||||||||||
| processed as quickly as possible. Substitute admin helpers will be sought out by HQ to help in case they are absent. | ||||||||||
