About Me
My name is Dan Dohrn, and it's hard
to say exactly when my Jeep addiction started. I can remember my
favorite matchbox cars being Jeeps. My only real exposure to Jeeps
growing up was when my family had an FC150
for a really short time that they acquired somehow in a vehicle
trade-in deal. The FC150 was a cab over pickup built on the CJ-5
frame. Although that was a cool Jeep, I don't think it is
responsible for my Jeep weakness.
My first car wasn't a Jeep, but it
was made by AMC. It was an Eagle SX4. It was a great car for getting
me to the mountain to snowboard, but it was no Jeep. I think my
quest for a Jeep really started when this guy in my highschool
autoshop class had a nicely built CJ-7 with a spring-over lift,
33" tires, and I think a small block Chevy marine engine. It
was after that I decided I had to have a Jeep, but it wasn't until a
couple years after that when I finally bought the CJ-7 that I have
now. For many years it stayed relatively stock and I just used it to
drive to school and work with the occasional off-roading venture in
Juneau, Alaska.
It wasn't until I finally graduated
from Boise State University and got a real job that I could finally
have a garage and a another vehicle so I could start really working
on the CJ-7.
I work as a Programmer for Boise
Cascade Corp to support my Jeep habits.
For fun I work on my Jeep, canoe,
rollerblade, play hockey, camp, snowboard, go to concerts, and spend
time with my beautiful wife and daughter.
