| Great sight Steve! I was able to identify my 71 vagabonds with the help of your serial number identifier. Both the 71's that I own have different engines in them one a 399 Koler the other a 340 Koler both sleds look identical except for the seat materials are different. I hope to have one ready for a couple vintage shows this comming winter. I'm sure that you are familiar with where to by some parts for Viking snowmobiles, would it be possible to set up links on your web sight to some of these parts suppliers? Thanks Steve! | Great site! I like looking at
pictures of old sleds. Although I own 2 newer sleds (2001 Indy 500 XC SP and 1996 Formula III), I have quite the passion for old sleds and still consider myself an old school snowmobile fanatic! I also own a '78 Yamaha Exciter 440, but it's been in pieces for a few years now. I couldn't help but notice in one of your pictures seeing what appears to be a Sno-Pony. It looks as if the 2 machines in front are Vikings, but the one in the back (yellow machine)looks just like a Sno-Pony. The first snowmobile that I ever laid my eyes on was a 1972 (or maybe 1973) SnoPony. My grandfather bought two of them brand new and probably had them for at least 10 years or so. Unfortunately, he got rid of them almost 20 years ago. If you or anyone have any information on where I can find one of these, I'd be psyched. I live in NH, but would probably be willing to travel out of state to get one of these. The model I'm intersted in has a 340 JLO motor in it. I b

When we cleaned up the plant we threw away hundreds of spare parts, hoods, tunnels etc. etc. I wish we knew more about your group so we could donate, give whatever to you. I would like more information if possible of the history of the Viking snowmobile. | Hi Steve, Great site!. I grew up
in the snow belt of NW Pa. in the early 70's and some of my fondest memories are of the riding, racing, repairing, and BS-ing that we use to do around these old vintage sleds. We had a dealership around for just about every brand you could imagine ,except for the Vikings(unfortunately); I always thought they looked like a well built sled and I loved the metalflake hoods and colors. Maybe with the internet I'll be able to find one some day to add to my collection. It's been a heatwave down here for weeks.....but I am starting to dream of the old sleds again. I can't wait for winter!!

Hi Steve. Just was thinking of the days in the early 70's when my father sold Viking snowmobiles in Northern New York, and though I'd see if there was anything on the internet on the old Viings, when low and behold I came upon your site. It brought back so many memories when I saw all those wonderful pictures of them, and was thinking of the times I'd take a new one just set up out of the crate for a " spin out back " just to see how it would go ! I always marveled at how good a Viking looked compared to other sleds and the very nice color selection that Viking offered. Well anyhow, just wanted to say you have a really nice site here and thanks for bringing back all those wonderful memories from my teenage years of riding on Vikings !

| Hi, I got a kick out of your mini-sno photos. I have two of these both 1970's One is in mint shape and the other is less the motor. Both fuel takes are cracked in many places and wonder if you have the same problem and if so how you fixed them. My dad was a moto-ski dealer for years here in South Dakota and sold many of those little sleds. He even got one that has the wrong engine put into it, A 340 and man did that thing move. A customer bought it and raced it in the South Dakota Governors cup snowmobile race in 1972 and went like crazy till he broke a ski off of it. Nice web site and think snow, we have about 15 inches on the ground today here in Aberdeen, S.D an rode the 580zr for 40 miles today. Scott | ||

| Great page, I really enjoyed it.
Would like to inquire about the statement of Twin Valley being the hometown of the Viking Snowmobile however. You see I live near Ashland, Wisconsin where the first Vikings were built. Seems to me Twin Valley offered a reduced rental at an old potatoe warehouse to the builders of the Viking as an incentive to move the industry to that city. There are a few of the older original Vikings still floating about in the area here.

| Steve, I really like your homepage. You've done some real nice work here! It's fun to look at people's homepage that I actually know! I do have one problem...I don't think I've ready anything with regards to the hot- permorming 440 sno-pro! ha, ha! ...add a little arctic green and your page would look perfect! Talk later man! | Steve, I sure look cute in that
picture huh?? (Even cuter than the sled!!!) You have done a nice job with your website, its fun to look at...Allen appreciates seeing his sleds on there, nice of you to add his name. I was sure surprised when Allen showed me the pictures of Cindy and mom and I.........Tammy

| Great start! I always like going
to new vintage sled pages, and learn about other brands. You don't need any yellow, you need some green! j/k. Good luck. Matt

| Cool site. Nothing nicer than all
the different colors and models of Viking snowmobiles. I'm glad to see the only yellow snowmobile is the Gold Vigilante SS 440. Remember, if you don't want to go hiking, ride a Viking. vikingsnowmobile@yahoo.com

| Pretty cool site, looks good even
without yellow! ;-) More pics of models and years would be great also a little history/specs. Keep up the good work!
