Why join the Texarkana Flying Club?
Generally, flying clubs exist in order to decrease the cost of flying for its members. This is important to us, but economy in flying is not the only purpose of our club. Having well maintained aircraft, an active training program, interesting educational meetings, social activities and friends to fly with is of equal importance.

How are Texarkana Flying Club aircraft maintained?
The maintenance for each aircraft is managed by a Club member who has the knowledge, training, and time to keep our planes airworthy. All maintenance work is either done by, or under the direction of, a FAA Certified mechanic. When allowed by Federal Aviation Regulations, some routine maintenance work is actually performed by Club members. As a member, you will have an opportunity to assist the managers and learn more about the planes you will fly.

What training and educational programs are available through the Texarkana Flying Club?
Our members have various ratings and can assist you in obtaining your Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, or other rating. Some of our own members are FAA Certificated instructors (CFI, CFII, Multi-engine) and they offer special instruction rates and services available only to other Club members. Monthly Club meetings are often devoted to aviation topics and cover a variety of subjects. We also have a small library of books and training videos available to members.

I am already a licensed pilot. How do I learn more about the club?
You can contact any of our members or Club Officers, or you can attend a Club meeting. Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Club office located at 118 Airport Drive at the Texarkana Regional Airport. At this meeting you will receive a copy of the Club's Operating Policies & Procedures and an application for membership.

How much does it cost?
Full membership applicants are required to pay a non-refundable $500 initiation fee upon joining ($250 for student membership applicants). Regular dues are $125 per month for full membership ($65 per month for student membership). A member may sell their membership at any time for any amount, provided the membership committee approves the purchase.
Are Texarkana Flying Club airplanes fully insured?
Yes, each has liability insurance for up to $1,000,000 property damage, $1,000,000 each accident, and $100,000 per passenger seat; hull insurance deductible, both in motion and not-in-motion is $200.00. The member/pilot is responsible for the deductible in the event of an accident.
