Club History

Lake Country R/C Flying Club was founded on 4-7-95.  Prior to this date, the club was known as The Arbuckle R/C Flying Club, established in 1973.  The original flying field was at the drag strip in Springer.  In 1978, the club contacted Lake Murray about moving their field site to the lake.  The club then picked the spot in which our field currently resides.  Over the years improvements have been made.  The biggest investment is the 400 foot asphalt runway, which was re-surfaced in 2000.  We currently enjoy a large metal awning with bench seating under the shade.  5 setup tables in the pits and 5 double pilot stations on concrete platforms about 25 feet from the runway.  We have had many compliments on our field from visiting pilots.
