The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.  First topic of discussion was a funfly/fly-in. Many ideas were exchanged such as:  Best in show (Scale models), Spectator judging, getting vendors to donate prizes for give-aways, concessions, promote it every way we can.  We have set the date for late March. We need to start planning for it in late December, early January.  Club funds are $2077.28. Next topic was taxiway installation.  Date was set for 9-11-09 and 9-12-09.  Next meeting will be 10-3-09.

7-25-09 Meeting at Ponders Restaurant:  Members present:  Frank Jennings; Larry Smith Sr.; Larry Smith Jr.; Joe R. Hornback; Joe Wayne Hornback; Bryant Harmon; Johnny Stone; Frank Houldston; Doug Loder; Wayne Cope

The minutes from the previous meeting were read. The funds of the club account were disclosed ($2197.00).  It was voted in at the previous meeting that the club would tip the table $20.00 at each meeting. This will be done in lieu of the drawing each meeting.  It was brought up that we need more visibility at the field from our safety program.  It was voted to promote Ed Barton to Safety Coordinator and Larry Smith Jr. to Safety Office. In the absence of both at the field, the first pilot at the field will assume the responsibility. The Fun Fly was discussed and was tentatively set for September.  The Taxi way was discussed and tentatively set for late September or earlier if it rains and the ground softens.

1-31-09 Meeting at Ponders Restaurant:  Members present:  Frank Jennings; Jim Spicer; Tyler Barker; Ed Barton; Jerry Smith; Larry Smith Sr.; Larry Smith Jr.; Joe R. Hornback; Joe Wayne Hornback; Blake Willis

The minutes from the previous meeting were read. The funds of the club account were disclosed.  The amount disclosed was before several members paid dues at this meeting. Joe Wayne brought information regarding our own internet domain for the website. It was voted no to keep our money saved for the taxiway and mowing for the year. The site now is free to the club.  The perimeter fence was brought up. It was said that more people are damaging planes than the good it's doing.  It was agreed that we would setup the fence so we could lower it while we fly.  Joe R. said that once the weather gets good, he will take up the remaining tables and redo the table tops with the metal like the one Frank did. Frank reported that the one tree that had died, we got our money back from Lowes. They had no more trees but we will purchase another one to replant once they get them in.  It was talked about putting down asphalt liner for taxi ways in the pits area.  The concrete taxi way will maneuver planes from the pits to the runway. The liner would be to maneuver planes in the pits area to the taxi way. This matter was not voted on or decided on, just discussed. We will see if we can get material donated.  The door prize drawing was done and Larry Jr. won. Motion was made to adjourn, and seconded, the meeting was dismissed. Next meeting will be March 14th.

10-04-08  Meeting at Ponders Restaurant: Members present:  Joe (Dad) Hornback;  Joe (Son) Hornback; Larry Smith Sr.; Frank Jennings; Ed Barton; Kevin O'Dell; Jerry Smith; Bob McCoy

Meeting was brought to order.  The club funds were discussed. The new taxiway was discussed.  It was agreed that we would wait until we got some rain before we begin working on the taxiway.  October is a busy month for many, then the holidays are both busy months for most so the project will probably come to light in the Spring. We also talked about a fly-in.  Which is also going to be revisited in the Spring after we get the taxiway installed.  We also discussed a domain for our website.  Joe (Son) to bring more information to next meeting on pricing. Motion was made to adjourn, and seconded, meeting was adjourned.

8-9-08  Meeting at Panda Buffet.   Members present:  Frank Jennings, Bob McKoy, Bryant Harmon, Ross Tanti, Kevin O'dell, Larry Smith, Ed Barton, Joe Dad and Joe Son Hornback and Frank Houldston.

The meeting was brought to order and the minutes from the previous meeting were read.  The minutes were approved.  There will be a car show (Blue River Car Club) at the race track in Springer on Saturday, 9-13-08.  We were asked to participate by setting up a static display of our airplanes.  Motion was made and it was voted in that the club participate in this event.  Time will be 8 am to 3pm.  Frank will contact Traxxas to see if we can obtain an R/C car to raffle off at the event.  The funds of the club were disclosed as well as the taxiway fund.  The taxiway project was discussed and it was decided that we will begin work on it in the fall.  Frank has a quote for stickers and ball caps.  It was voted on and approved that the club buy 25 stickers and 10 ball caps with out club logo and sell them.  A club domain was discussed for our club website.  Joe Son will research and report back.  Lakecountryrc.com or .org.  A funfly event was brought up and it was decided that we would hold such an event next Spring after we have put in our taxiway and the ground has been given time to recover.  The drawing was held for the 1/4 scale cub and the winner was Joyce Hornback.  And finally, Bob McKoy paid for everyone's dinner and asked that each of us put in $10.00 to finish funding our taxiway account.  Another $100 was raised in doing this.  Motion was made to adjourn and seconded, meeting was adjourned.

5-31-08:  Meeting at Ponder's Restaurant

Members Present:  Joe Hornback (Dad and Son), Frank Jennings, Tyler Barker and Bob McKoy

The meeting was brought to order.  The minutes were read from the previous meeting.  It was noted that the rule board is now up at the field and Joe Son needs to complete our application for our Leader Club membership.  The funds in the club bank account were disclosed.  Joe Son will come up with some correspondence to put into our rule board.  Frank will also bring some club fliers to put inside.  It was voted on and passed unanimously that the club cover the rest of Bob McKoy's club dues this year for donating the 1/4 scale cub for raffle.  It was brought up that AMA now has a "park flyer" program available that is less expensive than glow engine membership, if anyone is interested.  It was suggested that everyone make a list of everything they intend to donate to the garage sale and price it as well.  Tentative plans were made for a 4th of July event where we will cook burgers and sell a burger, chips and a coke for $5.  All proceeds go to club taxiway fund.  Motion was made to adjourn and seconded.  Meeting was adjourned.

Meeting Meeting at Ponders Restaurant Saturday, 4-19-08 at 6 p.m.

Members present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Kevin Hunt, Blake Willis, Frank Houldston, Frank and Andrea Jennings, Larry Smith Sr., Ed Barton, Bryant Harmon, Kevin O'Dell, and Ross Tonti.

The minutes from the previous meeting were not brought to this meeting.  The wrong minutes were accidentally printed out, so Joe Son winged it from memory and brought up the items we spoke about at the last meeting.  We have an approved site for our Garage sale.  In the parking lot of Sav A Lot.  Scheduled for June 21st at 8 a.m.  This gives us time to try and get donors to donate items for the sale.  Bob McCoy has donated his 1/4 scale cub to the club to raffle off for the taxi way fund.  Tickets are 10$ each.  Drawing will be held when we have 40 tickets sold.  The garage sale proceeds will all go towards the taxi way fund.  The amount of funds in the club account was disclosed.  The amount was the strongest showing in a few years.  Larry Sr. brought up a motion to raise the amount of money paid for mowing grass.  After much debate, a motion was made to raise the pay to $90 per mowing.  The motion was seconded and it was voted in by majority.  Then a motion was made to increase club dues.  After much debate, a motion was made to increase club dues to $15/ quarter.  Making the total $60/year.  Motion was seconded and it was voted in.  Motion was made to make the due increase retro-active back to January 1st of this year.  Motion was seconded and voted in.  Motion was made to allow those who have paid their dues already, until December 31st to pay the additional $$ that they now owe.  Motion was seconded and voted into place.  The rules sign was again brought up.  Frank is just about done with it and will be giving measurements to Ross to complete the plexi-glass part of it that we will put club information in.  Once it's finished, it will be installed at the field under the awning.  Once this is complete, Joe Son will complete the application for "Leader" Club with AMA.  This is the final requirement we have yet to meet.  The trees recently planted at the field are doing well.  Next meeting will be at Ponders on 5-31-08 at 6 pm again.  Motion was made to adjourn, seconded and adjourned.

3-29-08  Meeting at Ponders Restaurant Saturday at 6 p.m.

Present were:  Joe Hornback (Dad), Joe Hornback (Son), Blake Willis and father, James Spicer, Kevin Odell, Bryant Harmon, Johnny Stone, Frank and Andrea Jennings, Larry Smith Sr., Larry Smith Jr., Ross Tonti and wife, and newcomers Jerry Cross and wife Jo.

After eating, the meeting was called to order.  Again, outstanding attendance was observed at the meeting!  The minutes from the last meeting were read by Joe Hornback (Son).  The total amount of funds in the club bank account were disclosed.  We discussed the upcoming mowing season and if the price still fits.  The mowing costs were not changed.  We do about 10 mowings a year at $75.00 per mowing.  Frank Jennings is working on our AMA sign that has all the AMA rules and regulations printed on it.  This is a requirement for us to be recognized as a "leader" AMA club.  Frank's idea, is to attach a mailbox to the sign that we will put club information in at the field.  This was considered a great idea.  We then talked about how we were going to raise money to pour the taxiways we've talked about for so long.  A garage sale idea was introduced.  Joe Son will be contacting the Mall to see if we can hold our sale either in the north parking lot by Hobby Lobby, or in the far south lot on the corner of 12th and Commerce beside Burger King.  Either location would be a great location.  We decided to try and nail down a weekend in June, no more than two weeks away from July 4th.  That way we can put our planes out on display during the sale and encourage spectators and potential new pilots to come out on July 4th with us.  June 14th or 21st was suggested.  We can advertise for free on the radio since we are a non-profit organization.  And Joe (Son) will try to get Leah to do her article on our club a week or two prior to the event so we can plug it in the paper as well.  It was mentioned that May 24th is the Tinker Air show.  Again, the event is free.  Anyone wanting to carpool needs to be making arrangements now.  It was brought up that we should increase the value of our door prize to a $10.00 gift certificate to be cashed at Frank's Hobby Shop.  That way, whoever wins, will get to pick how he will spend his money, instead of picking from a few items that he may not even need.  It was voted in unanimously.  Five trees were bought to be planted at the field.  The trees were sponsored each by:  Frank and Andrea Jennings, Joe Dad Hornback, Bryant Harmon, Kevin Odell and Ross Tonti.  Since the weather for Sunday looks like a no-flier, it was made a work day, in which the two things we will accomplish is to 1) plant all five trees at the field and 2) finish the perimeter fence.  It was brought up that Greg Piatt has emailed Kevin Odell and said that our road will be fixed. If we do not begin to see action on the road real soon, Kevin will again contact Greg and Johnny Crutchfield to get the ball going.  Motion was made to dismiss and seconded.  A door prize drawing was held and Frank Jennings won.  Next meeting will be on 4-26-08 at Ponders at 6 p.m.

1-19-08  Meeting at Ryan's steakhouse in Ardmore, OK at 6 p.m.

Present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Frank Houldston, James Spicer, Kevin Hunt and wife, Ed Barton and wife, Larry Smith Sr., Larry Smith Jr., Paul Hull, Johnny Stone, Frank and Andrea Jennings, Blake Willis, Bryant Harmon, and Kevin Odell.

Undoubtedly, one of the best attended meeting we've had in quite a while.  The meeting began with Joe Son reading the minutes from the previous meeting.  It was mentioned again that we need to build an information container that we can put our club flyers with information such as phone numbers and mailing addresses so when someone new comes to the field and noone is there, they can get information on our club and know who to contact.  It was also suggested we make blank AMA applications available at the field.  It was brought up that the runway is getting a little 'lumpy' from aging in the elements.  Paul Hull mentioned that he had a 'roller' he could use to roll the runway and try to help with this issue.  Taxi ways were also discussed again.  A taxi way drawing was passed around the meeting for everyone to see.   Trees were discussed again.  The total amount in the club account was disclosed.  It was brought up if the club wanted to vote for new officers.  General consensus was to keep everyone in place as they are.  A door prize drawing was held and Joe Dad won.  Motion was made and seconded to adjourn.  Next meeting TBD.

12-08-07  Meeting and Christmas Party at Frank Jenning's in Mannsville at 6 p.m.

Present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback (and son), Frank Houldston, James Spicer, Kevin Hunt and wife, Ross Tonti and wife, Ed Barton and wife, Tyler Barker, Larry Smith Sr. and wife, Larry Smith Jr., Paul Hull, Johnny Stone, Joby Carpenter and wife, Bob McCoy and wife, and of course Frank and Andrea Jennings.

Good food and visiting was had by all.  After eating, a meeting was called to order.  The minutes from the last meeting were read aloud.  There was no old business.  New business:  Larry Smith Sr. suggested we do a Fun Fly in the spring.  This will only be successful if the road can get graded and leveled and fixed.  The state will not be willing to help us do this.  Ross Tonto has a contact to see if someone he knows would be willing to come out and grade at no or little cost to the club.  A Fun Fly would be a good way to put some funds into our club account and have some fun while doing it.  We will discuss further at the next meeting.  We also need to finish the perimeter fence.  We have all the material needed, just need to finish it.  Won't take more than 30 minutes to finish what's left.  We also need to redo the flag markers on the perimeter fence.   Many of them have been blown to one side or another and no longer are in the middle.  It was suggested we paint some small flat sheets of sheet metal bright orange (safety orange) and hang them from the fence.  It was also suggested at this meeting that the club get together and fly at a new location like Healdton some day, so we can all have a place to convene when our road is too muddy and wet to get down.  Another location suggested was the Davis airport.  It was also suggested that we sell soda pops at the field to help generate revenue for the club's funds.  We could also have cookouts at the club and charge for the sandwiches.  Frank brought up the idea that we should drop some of our club fliers off at the Park Office.  Joe Son will look into the cost of getting the club their own domain for the website.  Johnny Stone suggested we create some kind of plexi-glass container with a lid and put some fliers/literature about our club and how to contact us at the field.  That way if someone comes to the field and no one is there, they have information about our club and can contact someone to join.  It was also brought up that our club qualifies for the AMA Club Leader Award.  Joe Son Hornback will start gathering information and items needed to send in an application for our club for this award.  It will give our club some much needed recognition for all our efforts.  The next club meeting was set for 1-19-08.  Time and place to be announced, possibly Tyler's hangar...  There was no other business brought up so meeting was motioned and seconded to adjourn.  Upon completion of the meeting, a drawing was held for paying club members for a door prize for meeting attendance.  Joe Dad won this prize.  He won a spinner.  Then a second drawing was held, and a R700 receiver that Joe Dad had donated to the club was drawn for.  Joe Son won this prize.  It was mentioned that the drawings may be rigged?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

11-10-07:  Meeting at Ryan's steakhouse, Ardmore, OK  6:00 p.m.

Members present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Frank Houldston, Bill Houldston and James Spicer.

Sole reason for tonight's meeting was to plan for the upcoming Mall display that is scheduled for 11-17-07 at Mtn. View Mall.  We will begin to convene around 9 am.  We will setup an awning to put planes in with caution tape around it to try to keep smaller kids away.  We will also have a table setup with literature available.  We will have a DVD playing with video that has been taken of our club members flying.  We will setup right outside Hobby Lobby.  We will likely go until around 3 or 4 pm.  A drawing was held for a door prize and Joe Son won, to be redeemed at Texoma Hobby Shop.  Meeting was adjourned.

9-22-07:  Meeting at Ryan's steakhouse, Ardmore, OK  5:30 p.m.

Members present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Larry Smith Sr., Paul Hull, and David Powers.

Motion was made to pay Larry $75 for brushhogging the field today. He spent 5 hours brushhogging today. Motion was seconded and passed. We set this coming Saturday, the 29th as our work day. We will start around 10am. On the agenda is finishing the perimeter fence, painting the newly installed table, and moving the wind directional. If we have time, we will uproot one table to be replaced with a metal table top to see how we like it. Joe Son will call the state again next week to see why they haven't graded the road like they promised. Joe son will also call the mall to see if we can set up a display some time late in November or early December on one Saturday in an effort to drum up interest in the club. Joe son will also see about an article expo in lifestyles in the Ardmoreite again. We also discussed having a fly in sometime this Fall. We need to get the road fixed and the transmitter impound box built first. Joe Son will come up with some activities we could do at the fly in. Larry Smith Sr. won the first door prize at this meeting. He won a roll of ultracote. It was brought up that we need a secretary to keep notes and read notes from previous meetings at our meetings. Since Joe Son is already keeping notes online for our meetings, Joe Son was nominated and seconded and voted in as the club secretary. Our next meeting is scheduled for 11-3-06 at 6pm. Place to be announced.

8-18-07:  Meeting at Ryan's steakhouse, Ardmore, OK 6:00 p.m.

Members present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Frank and Andra Jennings, Frank Houldston, Larry Smith Sr, Ed Barton, and Bob McCoy

The amount of funds in the club account was disclosed.  Club due status was announced as being down over the past few years.  We talked about a possible mall kiosk where we set up shop at the mall one weekend and display our planes for exposure in hopes of gaining new club members who want to learn how to fly.  We also discussed having door prizes at the meetings.  Must be present to win, in order to gain more participation in the club meetings.  We will also try to make phone contact with everyone in the club to make sure everyone knows when club meetings are coming up.  Other topics discussed were the perimeter fence.  We have all the material needed now to finish it.  We have scheduled a tentative work day for September 29th.  On this day one goal will be to finish the perimeter fence and any other projects that we may want to accomplish that day.  Frank is going to try to get the far south table top replaced with a metal table top to see how we all like it.  If we like it, we can replace all the table tops like this on the work day.  We also talked about radio impound when we have more than one person on a channel at the field.  Joe Dad will create us an impound box for our transmitters.  When two people at the field are present on the same channel, one of the transmitters will always be in the impound box and the one that can fly the channel will have a green clothespin giving them permission to use that channel.  The impounded transmitter cannot come out of impound without gaining possession of the green clothespin.  We have scheduled our next meeting for September 22nd, which is one week prior to the work day so we can discuss everything we want to accomplish on the work day.  Frank and Joe Dad were at the field Wednesday and completed the picnic table/bench underneath the awning.  It turned out very good.  We now have a nice big table to work on under the shade, and/or eat on.

3-17-07:  Meeting at Ryan's steakhouse.

Members present were:  Joe Dad Hornback, Joe Son Hornback, Frank and Andra Jennings, Frank Houldston, Larry Smith Sr., Larry Smith Jr., Ed Barton, and Tyler Barker.

The amount of funds in the club account was disclosed.  Club dues status was announced.  Topics discussed were re-conditioning the benches at the field by using a new "plastic" board that we may be able to get at a reduced rate at Builder Bob's.  Frank Jennings will be checking into this for us.  Joe Dad confirmed he has a source for cable to complete our project, he just needs to remind the person who has it that we need it.  Frank Jennings also may have a source for the cable we need.  Once we get the cable we will re-schedule a new work day at the field.  Motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Keep watching the website and emails for next club meeting.

12-02-06:  Meeting and Christmas Party at Frank Jennings'.

Members Present:  Joe Hornback (Dad and Son), Larry Smith Sr., Frank Houldson, Ed Barton, Frank Jennings, Bryant Harmon, Paul Hull, Ryan and Misty Russell, Kevin Hunt and wife, Tyler Barker and Andra Jennings.

The party was good.  Lots of good food was eaten!  A quick meeting was called to order to discuss the final preparations of the perimeter fence.  Joe Dad will be seeing someone at OG&E about donating some highline wire.  Joe Dad also has another possible source for heavy duty electrical wire that may work.  We will also be seeing if we can get it second hand at a lower price.  Our next meeting will be in January, the date has not yet been set.  Left to discuss for Spring is the taxiways, and extension of the awnings, redoing the seats, repairing/adding tables, and planting trees.  Watch the website for the next posted meeting date.

9-23-06:  Meeting at Ryan's Steakhouse in Ardmore, OK at 6pm:

Members Present:  Joe Hornback (Dad), Larry Smith Sr., Frank Houldston, Ed Barton, Frank Jennings, Joe Hornback (Son), James Spicer, Bryant Harmon, Ross Tanti

The total amount of money in the club account was disclosed by Frank Jennings in Andra's absence.  The main discussion was improvements at the field.  Taxiways were discussed again.  The new idea is to create a large half circle in front of each setup table that meets a 4 foot taxiway to the runway.  The taxiway has to be at ground level.  This idea was generally accepted by everyone present.  The two dead trees will need to be removed.  Joe Hornback (Son) will contact the Noble Foundation and inquire about what kind of tree we should go back with and a possible donation of that tree.  Frank Jennings has a roll of chain link fence he will donate to the field.  Paul Hull had also mentioned at the field that he had a roll he could donate as well.  After the meeting, Sharon Smith (Larry's wife) also said she may know of some fence and posts that could be donated.  She is checking in on that for us.  Larry Sr. also has some corrugated metal he will donate to the cause of extending the awning out another 20 feet.  This will cover the second bench and create more shade/shelter.  It was also brought up that in the past, Builder Bob has donated and/or sold us materials at a reduced cost for our projects at the field and we will certainly check in with him to see if he is willing to do so again for our upcoming projects.  We also talked about how to build members in our club.  A couple good ideas were brought up.  One was set up tables inside the mall on a busy Saturday and display our planes/equipment and try to recruit new pilots that way.  Another was to do a fly-in show somewhere in the public and advertise for it.  Or simply run an ad in the newspaper.  It was also brought up that we need another sign at the dirt road turn off.  Many folks who are possibly trying to find our field cannot find it because of the lack of signage.  Bryce Todd is the contact on this project at the state.  Someone will contact him and see if the state will erect a new sign or if the club can create one within the state's specs and place it.  A work day was not scheduled because the general consensus was that we needed more rain in order to be able to work with the ground easier.  However, since we are going to use tractor equipment to dig for the taxiways, it was suggested that we dig and pour at least one taxiway to see how we will like it.  Then it was suggested to pour at least two or three right away.  It was agreed that our next day at the field we will steak off the taxiways and figure up the cost and begin with this project.  Future dates of interest were the Alliance airshow next Saturday (9-30-06) and the hayride at Franks on 10-28-06.  A date for our next meeting was not set.  Keep watching the website for the date on our next club meeting.

UPDATE:  9-27-06 / Spoke to lady at Lake Murray State Park.  Asked her about putting up additional signage at the dirt road turnoff to the field.  She acknowledged that there used to be signage there but has been gone for some time now and said that they will re-erect the signage this winter.  Until then, she said that we were free to put up signage on an as needed basis if we were having an event down there.  I believe the lady I spoke to was named Carol.

8-12-06:    Meeting at Ryan's Steakhouse in Ardmore, OK at 6pm:

Members Present:  Larry Smith Sr., Kevin Hunt, Frank Houldston, Ed Barton, Frank Jennings, Joe Hornback (Dad), Joe Hornback (Son)

Frank Jennings gave us all an inventory of things he has at his house we can use at the field for updating the tables, building a picnic table, and putting up more fence around the perimeter of the field.  We talked about scheduling a work day but we really need to have some rain and cooler temperatures before we can schedule the workday.  We agreed that we would schedule a work day at our next club meeting on 9-23-06.  We also talked about building a ramp to help unload lawn mowers out of the back of pickups out of railroad ties.  We also talked about the website.  More information was gathered to help complete the website.  It was brought to the attention of the members that we could have our own domain through godaddy.com for a very small price each month.  This will be discussed further by the members before we do so.  For now, the website will stay where it is at.  The club's bank account balance was disclosed at this meeting by Frank Jennings who filled in for Andra in her absense.  We then had general discussion that consisted of mainly flying stories :)  Motion was made to adjourn and seconded.  Next club meeting is 9-23-06.
