Background
In 2001, the Banff Film Festival came to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
A few high school students attended the festival and were impressed
by Kris Holm's unicycling talent. Not long after, Dallin Stoker,
Cannon Smith, Chris Thompson and his brother Kyle began learning
how to unicycle. The four unicyclists progressed quickly and
discovered some of the possibilities on a unicycle. In their
progress, they wanted to make a video of their talent. Soon
after, they released mUNIac, which quickly became a popular
internet video. Encouraged by the success of mUNIac, the four
continued their progress while filming continued for a new video,
Under No Influence. While
the final DVD took many additional months to complete, none
of the unicyclists in Under No Influence
had ridden for more than a year when the filming was done.
Synopsis
From the producer of the widely successful internet film "mUNIac"
comes the latest and greatest unicycling talent from a small
town in Idaho. Unicyclists Dallin Stoker, Cannon Smith, Chris
Thompson, and Kyle Thompson take the sport of unicycling where
few could ever dream it would go. The four scope out every nook
and cranny of their hometown in search of newer challenges,
greater heights, and crazier tricks. Then Dallin and Chris set
off on a road trip to Salt Lake City and Moab, Utah where they
find exciting new obstacles and terrain. These unicyclists aren't
"professional," but you might just be fooled. None
have unicycled for more than a year, yet they constantly improve
as they push each other to new levels. You'll want to tie yourself
to the couch - "Under No Influence"
will blow you away!
The main movie is about 17 minutes of almost pure unicycling. Special features include over 30 minutes of additional content.
