I believe that the United States should continue the war with the Iraq government. We are not going to war with Iraq for it's oil or for the political gain of our President, George W. Bush. We are fighting against the Iraqi government that is run by a ruthless dictator, Saddam Hussein. We are not at war with the Iraqi citizens and we are not trying to conquer Iraq but instead we are trying to liberate it. We are also trying to find any weapons of mass destruction that the régime under the rule of Saddam Hussein might be hiding.

I think that going to war in Iraq is right and just. I believe that Iraqi citizens have been in need of liberation for many years. Saddam, the leader of Iraq has been torturing, killing, and repressing the people of Iraq for years. In 1988 when Saddam got angry with the Kurdish people in northern Iraq he sent bombs that were filled with chemicals raining down on the Kurds. These weapons were filled with chemicals such as mustard gas, which killed thousands of innocent people. Neither children nor adults were spared the wrath of Saddam Hussein. Saddam also tortures his own people and enlist the help of his sons, Qusay and Uday to help carry out these atrocities.

Another reason that we should continue with the war in Iraq is that Saddam has four known chemical and biological weapon sites. The first one is IBN Sana Company, the second one is Fallujah 2, and the third one is Fallujah 3, the fourth one, Alodawrah Food and Mouth Disease Facility that supposedly makes vaccines. The Unites States also believes that Saddam has many mobile chemical and biological weapons factories throughout the country.

The third reason that we should continue the war in Iraq is in 1991 Saddam invaded Kuwait, a neighboring country that borders Iraq to the southeast. When Saddams army invaded Kuwait they raped and tortured many of the people and pilfered the towns. This act proved that Iraq with Saddam in charge is a threat to its neighbors.

The final reason I believe we should continue the war in Iraq is because on April 9th, 2003 Coalition forces found a prison belonging to Saddams Baath Party that held children. Some of these children were as young as five years old. The children were imprisoned and tortured because either their parents or themselves refused to join the Baath Party. Coalition forces released the children into the arms of their waiting parents. There are many other reasons that we should continue with this war that are too numerous to mention here.

In my opinion we should stay at war with the Iraqi government until they are no longer in power. We should also kill or capture Saddam Hussein and the ruling members of his party. After Saddam and his henchmen are captured or killed Iraq will be liberated. The next step that we need to take will be to install a temporary government until the people of Iraq can have a democracy.

Once Iraq has been liberated the citizens of Iraq will once again have enough food, water and other needed supplies. The Iraqi citizens will no longer be killed, captured, or tortured by Saddam. Also the people of Iraq will have more freedoms like the freedom of speech. Before the war the Iraqi people could not speak out against their government without the threat of death to themselves or their families. The Iraqi people would also have freedom of the press. Under Saddams rule the government controlled all the television and newspapers in the country. The Iraqi television station showed Saddam in a good light all the time. It would should things like him giving speeches, kissing children, having meetings and so on.

Instead of protesting against the war in Iraq I think that people should show that they support the troops. We are there to bring peace to Iraq, no to take it away. I also believe that the peace protesters should learn more about the atrocities that have happened in Iraq under the rule of Saddam Hussein before they make a judgment that the war is wrong.
