A great chess player was I
rivaled by none.
Chess was my life,
it was all I had ever done.
Then I went to play
a strong Grand Master
we both played a good game
but he thought much faster
as I made my final moves.
I looked at the knight
and saw that I could improve.
I moved and hoped for a good fight,
an attack he tried to start
I knew the battle was almost over,
the game had seemed like art.
Soon our fight was finished
my opponent the Grand Master
had been diminished.
