Johnny Reb II & III

Opening set up for the Herr Ridge Scenario

designed by Scott Mingus and the Enduring Valor Scenario book (awesome material)

At Start                  Archer's Brigade               Buford's Line

Turn 1

Not Much happens here, just some Unions Guns opening up and 1 Shot of Archers Brigades advance toward the Union Skirmishes

Turn 2

Again, not much going on here, Union Artillery has been non effective for the first 2 turns, no noticeable casualties and Archer and Davis continue to push strait forward as time is the issue for them.

End of Turn 2

Turn 3

Turn 3 has a little more bang to it, The Skirmishers start to head back toward friendly lines as the weight of a full brigade presents itself

Davis's Brigade Starts to move up and will hopefully bring some it's larger numbers to bear, albeit they are green troops

Buford's line holds, waiting for the right moment to start to pour on fire on Archer's Brigade

Turn 4

Archer Takes a beating this turn, the 7th TN and 5th AL both come under very heavy fire, the 7th Loses 50% of its strength in 20 minutes from Artillery fire and small arms fire but holds strong, the 5th AL loses only a few men but being a very small unit of 135 men it already looses 25% of its strength. (why archer would lead with such a small unit is beyond me, it would have been much better to have any of the other regiments lead)

The Union Line at the end of Turn 4 inflicts about 180 casualties (6 figures) to less than 30 (or 0 in game terms) of their own casualties.  Even Davis's Brigade takes some Artillery causalities loosing 30 men on the line of the 2nd MS
