Lower Mesa Falls in southeastern Idaho (west of Yellowstone National Park) in the Targhee National Forest. Lower Mesa Falls has no protective railing around it and does not receive as many visitors as Upper Mesa Falls. However, it is possible to walk to the Lower Falls from the Upper Falls along a seldom-used 4-wheel drive track (now closed to vehicles). The Lower Falls can also be seen from afar at an observation point on US 191. The Lower Falls drops 65 feet from the mesa (Spanish for "table"). November. |
