Meet Our Pastor
David was elected from the Presbytery of East Iowa
to be the Youth Advisory Delegate to the Synod meeting in 1978. In 1979, he
was chosen from the Synod of Lakes and Prairies to be on the design team for
the first Youth Triennium in 1980. David served on the Design Team working
with the international youth who came to the event.
In 1982, David graduated from the University of
Iowa with a B.A. in economics. In 1985, he received his M.Div from Union
Theological Seminary in New York. He was ordained September 15, 1985. David
pastored the East End Presbyterian Church, Ottumwa, Iowa from August 15, 1985
through December 31, 1995. From January 1, 1996 through January 31, 2005, he
pastored the Westwood Presbyterian Church in Wichita, KS. David has been the
pastor of First Presbyterian Church since February 1, 2005. David's call to
ministry is one of leading congregations through times of renewal and
transformation.
David is married to Hannah and they have four
children. Hobbies include; coaching and refereeing soccer, chess, guitar,
golf, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
