This is a 1949 Packard Super Eight Touring Sedan restoration project, that has already had much of the hard work done.
The Super Eight was the mid-range Packard model for Series 23 cars (the "Bathtub" body style) and sat on a 127" wheelbase.
It is equipped with the famous 327 cu in Thunderbolt Straight Eight engine, mated to a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The previous owner of this car got partly through a body-off restoration, before getting sidetracked with career, family, and relocation.
He thoroughly sandblasted and painted the bare frame, and then completely rebuilt the brakes and all the running gear using new components.
The engine, transmission, and overdrive were all professionally rebuilt, and have zero miles on them.
The main body was re-installed using new hardware, but the car is still partially disassembled, and awaiting paint, interior, and reasssembly.
All parts were carefully boxed and stored inside during restoration; many spares and duplicate parts are included.
This is an original, nearly rust-free, dry climate car, that will be a real beauty when finished.
