1969 Opel GT 1100
Rust-free Idaho car

This is a very cool and very rare 1969 Opel GT 1100, which was one of only 342 imported into the USA. It is equipped with a small but potent 1078cc pushrod 4-cylinder engine with dual Solex carbs, which was only available during the first year of GT production. Sporty and fun to drive, the GT 1100's light weight and aerodynamic design helped the car achieve better than 40+ mpg fuel consumption, as reported by all the leading car magazines back in the day.

This example is a straight and totally rust-free Idaho car, which sold new in Spokane, Washington and had only two previous owners before me. It is fitted with the original Saddle Tan interior (option code 701) and was originally painted British Racing Green (color code 15). This was a very rare combination only offered in 1969, and is much sought after by Opel GT fanatics. It was repainted a medium metallic blue during the mid-1980s (very close to an original Opel color), with custom racing stripes down the top. The car runs and drives, and will be a fine daily driver or weekend car with a little TLC, or would be the perfect basis for a full restoration to original specification.
