About Peconga

About Me

My name is Doug, and I have been collecting and restoring old cars for over 35 years. I specialize in tracking down interesting vehicles that have been forgotten or neglected, and bringing them back to life. Sometimes I break out the toolbox and get my hands dirty, and do the restoration work myself. Other times I simply pass on my finds to other enthusiasts who have more time, talent, and resources than me. That's why I built this website. Nothing fancy. Just complete, honest descriptions and as many pictures as bandwidth allows. Because it's all about the passion for old cars, and sharing it with others.

Doing Business With Me

As an enthusiast and collector, I am easy to do business with. I own every car on this site, free and clear. I don't do consignments, or broker cars on spec, or offer cars that aren't physically in my possession.

I keep all my cars in a secure, private warehouse near downtown Boise, safe from the weather and prying eyes. Viewing is by appointment only, and of course pre-purchase inspection by a qualified third party is always welcome.

I always figure that too much information is better than too little, so feel free to email or call me with questions about any of my cars, and I will do my best to answer them. Over the years I have sold many cars to out-of-state and overseas buyers (Canada, Australia, France, the Netherlands, England, Germany, and Russia so far), so I do my best to make sure there are no surprises - What you see is what you get!

My warehouse is located less than four miles from the Boise Airport, and less than one mile from the Interstate highway. Whether you pick up your new car in person or employ a transport company, this makes arrangements for loading and transport as troublefree as possible. Short-term storage is possible, and I can also help arrange local delivery if needed.

If it turns out that I've already sold your dream car, or you are looking for something similar to the cars on my site, feel free to send me an email message to let me know. Because it never hurts to ask, and I may have another one still in storage, or know where there is a one available.

And yes, I will occasionally take in a trade, especially if it's for something interesting. Again, you never know until you ask.

What does Peconga mean?

Peconga is a Native American family name from the Eastern branch of the Miami tribe in Northern Indiana. I chose this name for my hobby business out of respect for the traditional Miami values of Honor, Courage, Wisdom, and Community, and in remembrance of the beautiful hills and fields of the Mississinewa River Valley where I grew up.
