I was responsible for designing and implementing new
commands, features, and underlying structures for the GENER/OL fourth-generation
programming language and its environment.
As project leader, I coordinated the development of Release 7.0 of GENER/OL.
Release 7.0 was a major upgrade involving the work of five programmers over two years.
Programming was done in CICS using the IBM System/370 Assembler Language (Assembler H).

RESPONSIBILITIES |

As Manager of Technical Services, I reported to the
Director of Information Systems and Communications. I supervised four Systems
Programmers who supported all Systems software on the IBM 4381-2, including
MVS/SP1.3, ACF/VTAM, and CICS 1.6. In addition, I supervised the Database
Management and Security Administrator functions.
As Systems Programmer and Sr. Systems Programmer, I was responsible for
developing software (using the IBM System/370 Assembler Language) to support
the application programmers. I was also at different times responsible for
supporting all the various operating system and related software, including
OS/VS1, MVS, ACF/VTAM, and CICS.
As a Computer Programmer, I wrote application programs under the direction
of a Systems Analyst. The programs were written in Cobol and in Mark IV
(a report-writing language).
