Habitat house dedications from our recent past

Mindy Garrett is now the proud owner of the fifth house Habitat for Humanity has built in the Kirksville Area. The dedication ceremony for the house took place Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the site of the house, 1102 West Patterson. Click here to see pictures from the dedication ceremony.

Shirley Dennis's home, the fourth Habitat house in the Kirksville Area, was dedicated on Sunday, June 15, 2003. Shirley's next door neighbors on Don Street, Gary and Diane Harrison, were the recipients of Habitat's third house in the Kirksville area. Their house was dedicated on March 30, 2003.

Mindy and her family, Shirley, and the Harrisons each contributed more than 300 hours of work toward the building of their respective houses.

Habitat's work goes on...

Now that Habitat has completed construction on its fifth house in Kirksville, it is actively involved in planning for the sixth. The new house is located on Jefferson Street in Kirksville. See the "Get Involved" section for details about how you can help.

Nicole Casey and her son Jason have been selected as the prospective home owners for Kirksville Habitat's sixth house. Read Nicole's inspiring comments about being selected in our latest newsletter.

Generous gift presented by Truman's Habitat chapter

On December 15, 2005, a check in the amount of $6,500 was presented to Kirksville's Habitat affiliate by Truman State University's Habitat chapter. The Truman Habitat chapter has been extraordinarily instrumental in their help with the construction of Habitat's recent houses in Kirksville. This additional financial gift presented in December was the culmination of many months of dedicated work on the part of the Truman Habitat chapter's members. Kirksville's Habitat affiliate is deeply grateful for the Truman Habitat chapter's unflagging generosity. Click here to see pictures of the check presentation ceremony.
