Kirksville Area Habitat for Humanity
Helping with Construction Work
Come
heft a hammer!
Now that Habitat has completed its
fifth house in Kirksville (see the dedication pics here),
work is beginning on our sixth house at 1215 E. Jefferson Street (on the
corner of Jefferson and Bradford; see the map here). When we start up full-fledged
construction again, we generally will be working on Saturday mornings/afternoons
(starting
around
9:00 a.m.).
In your planning the day or days you'd like to help
out, it's generally best to call ahead to Vance Myers (665-1123), just
to make
sure we wil be working the day you plan on going.
No experience or equipment is required— we welcome everyone aged 16 or over (our insurance policy prevents us from having younger individuals on the construction site). If you do have construction skills, though, you would be especially welcome.
You do NOT need to make a long-term commitment to help with construction— come on whatever day or days you woud like, and go whenever you need to. We are just grateful for the help!
