Welcome! I'm glad to see you are still with us. The first thing we need to do is expand our canvas to make room for more items. Go to Image/Canvas Size and
use the settings below.

Click on the Object Selection Tool
Draw out a bounding box that will include all of the parts of the head. This will allow us to move the head
as a single unit without actually "grouping" the parts. Use this bounding box to move the head off a bit toward the center;
sort of get it out of the way for a moment.
Active layer="raster1".
Refill this layer with your original background color.
New Vector Layer Name it "moon"
Foreground: #000000
Background: #FFFF00

Preset Shape: cdr_moon-001
Retain Style: Unchecked
Antialias: Checked
Create on Vector: Checked
Line Style: Solid
Line Width: 2
Place the cursor at 70 x 20, click and hold the left mouse button, moving until you reach coordinates 615 x 475. Selections/Select none.
Active layer="head".
Click on the "Object Selection Tool" and again draw a box around all parts of the head.
Tilt and position the "head" till it looks like our little angel is using the moon for a pillow. Selections/Select None.

In about the center of the moon draw a wide oval for the body.
Right click on the oval and select "Convert to Path" from the drop down menu.
Click on the Pen Tool to edit the nodes as shown below. Place the narrow part under the chin and leave the tummy nice and plump.

Again we start with an oval.
Right click on the oval and select "Convert to Path" from the drop down menu. Click on the "Object Selection Tool" and tilt the oval using the rotator handle.
Click on the Pen Tool and we're good to go.
The first thing we want to do is make a break in the perimeter. Click on the leftmost node of the oval to select. Right click and place the cursor on "Edit" on the drop down menu. From the edit menu click on "Break".
You'll get a thingy that looks like "A" below. Using your cursor you can now separate and reposition these nodes.
Add extra nodes and manipulate them into something similar to the leg below.
In the "Layers Panel, have "leg1" active. Right click and select "Duplicate". Rename this "leg2".
With "leg2" the active layer, select the "Object Selection Tool" and click on the leg on the canvas.
With the bounding box now showing move it off to the right a bit so we can see it clearly. Again back in the layers panel click on the "leg2" layer and drag it
down till it is below the "moon" layer. Now reposition "leg2" so it looks like it is hanging down on the other side of the moon.
Active layer="leg1".
New Vector Layer Name it "front leg"
I know I appear to skip around a lot, but if you bear with me it'll all make sense by and by. Keep a careful watch on the "Active Layer" for best results.
Starting up under the chin, draw a long thin oval for the front leg.
Right click on the oval and select "Convert to Path" from the drop down menu.
Click on the Pen Tool to edit. Click on the top node
to select and follow the previous directions (shown in BLUE) on how to make a break in the perimeter
Move and reposition the nodes until it looks something like this figure below.
Active layer="leg1".
New Vector Layer Name it "hoof"
Foreground: Null

Draw out a small oval on the end of "leg1".
Right click on the oval and select "Convert to Path" from the drop down menu.
Click on the Pen Tool to edit. Click on the eye in the "Layers Panel" to make the color disappear. Click on each node while holding down the Shift
key...Right click/Node Edit/Cusp. Zoom in and shape as in the figure below. That's it. We are only making one half of a cloven hoof.
We will Bevel and Duplicate these later. Click on the eye again to restore color.

Draw out a good sized oval under the front leg.
Right click on the oval and select "Convert to Path" from the drop down menu.
Click on the Pen Tool to edit. Add nodes as needed...here again I
converted most of the node to "Cusps". Use the figure below as a guide, but feel free to do your own thing.

Draw out a small, rather flat oval over the head and about the same width as the head.
Click on the "Object Selection Tool" and use the handle to tilt the halo to about the same
angle as the head. Adjust position if necessary.
That's it for the vectors. We'll do the shading and add details on the next page. Here
is what we have so far.
By the way...here is a list of the layers if you should want to compare.
