So
every Monday Night is game night for me and my friends. You
can see us here in my den surrounded by heaps of paper, books, cookies,
dice, cokes (beer), and figurines, the essentials to run an RPG.
On the left is Trevor, Kelly is in the middle, and Aron is on
the right. I sit behind the screen (and am holding the Camera
in this shot). Not pictured is the ever important pizza, but
it's round there someplace.
This
is my good buddy Kelly. He goes to the same church I go to,
and we have know eachother for quite some time. He's kind of
a shy guys, but you won't meet a kinder soul on this planet.
He totaly kicks my butt at Smash Brothers, Pikmin, Mario
Tennise, or any other Game-Cube game. He plays Bill Cripple
stick, the Ninja Assassin in our RPG. In any Game-Cube game
fight, there is no one I would rather have at my side.
No this is not
spock, this is my friend Aron doing a very poor imitation.
Aron is a realy laid back guy. He takes a joke
better than anyone I know and very little seems to upset him.
He owns me at Soul Caliber 3 generaly, which is only fair
since I can destroy him at Soul Caliber 2. He plays Fang, the
demented Cleric with a unhealthy desire for the dead in my RPG.
Aron's realy easy to get along with, so he's always welcome
at my place.
The fellow to the
right of Kelly is Trevor. Trevor has an active mind and wants
to be in the center of everything, which can be cool. He's
always active in pushing to get us to gether and do something (and in
general we need his pushing). I'm good a FPS, but Trevor
generaly defeats me at Halo 2. One of these days we are going
to switch back to Quake so I can have my revenge. He plays
Vahn, a dual weilding, death dealing ranger in my RPG.
Without Trevor I think my group may have fizzled out and
died, but with his prodding we have stuck together for two years now
Aron again,
warning this pick is kind of scary up close. Aron works at
walmart and shares much of the same intrests as me. We both
enjoy anime, specificaly that with Ninjas, Giant Mechs, and panty
shots. One of these days I will convince him that Neon
Genesis Evangelion is THE best anime every, and RaXephon only plays
secound fiddle. But that hasn't happened yet. He
works at wal-mart, but I never seem to see him when I am there.
Course I haven't been there much lately anyways.
Aron is defiently a peace-maker, and so would inherit the
kingdome of heaven if he wasn't agnostic.
Here's me hard at
work GMing. For those of you who have never run a role
playing game before, it mainly consits of flipping through paper and
then ignoring it and making something up out of the blue.
That and keeping the gaming moving and making the funniest
jokes are the most vital duties. I enjoy it, and it's a role
I am cut out for since my collection of RPG books has long since passed
gargantuan.
I've
talked alot about the RPG we play, but we do spend quite alot of time
playing conventional video games too. While I love my PS2, we
tend to favor the Game-Cube because nothing beats it for four player
fun. Here me Sony, the PS3 better have 4 control points or we
are
going to have to have an unpleasent discussion!
My
main problem is that I don't have enough space for all my friends!
I have two main gaming chairs, and comfortable room for one
more.
But since there are generaly at least 4 people over (if not
more)
we tend to run out of space real quick! My folding chair and
rolling computer chair help out, as do long controler cords, but
generaly someone has to sit on the bean-bag chair on the floor.
We
started out small scale with our game night, but it has really improved
in scope and technique. You can see me here detailing a map
on my white board which I got just for that purpouse. I also
have recently introduced a table top map and minitures into our game
which I think has greatly improved things. Now if I could
only find a dry-erase map for my table map I would be all set.
If you know of a good one let me know.
Lastly
is Kelly. I can't say enough about what a good guy he is.
While you never know what the future may bring, it would be
cool if he and I could get together and split a house or an apartment.
Maybe after he finishes his first year in radioloy school
this will be possible. We also play tennis some times, and of
course Kelly destroys me at that as well. I'm getting better
though, and I can still beat him at fencing!
