June 16, 1995 -- July 16, 2003

Fire & Ice was with us for only a short time, just about 2 months but what a wonderful 2 months it was.  He was a very willing horse, proud and beautiful.  His driving ability was coming along really well.  He was strong for a horse of 34.25 inches and pulled either of us in cart with ease.  On Sunday, July 13, 2003, he seemed well and eating his dinner just fine.  On Monday morning he refused breakfast and we were off to the vet, where he tubed him with oil.  Tuesday morning, he was no better, so the vet tubed with more oil and fluids, as well as IVs with another 8 liters of fluids. Still his general health declined more and we went to Chaparral Clinic in North Phoenix in the afternoon. Dr. Andrea had him in surgery by that evening.  Though he did well after surgery for 6 hours, later in the morning, his organs started shutting down from endotoxemia and he was in considerable pain. Though the vets worked with him all day, at 3:00 PM that day Fire & Ice walked over "Rainbow Bridge".  May he rest in eternal peace.  We miss him very much.

--- COME TO ME ---

God saw you getting tired and when a cure was not to be
He closed His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
When we saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer that again.
