I have been doing 500 situps a day in order to lose the fat around my stomach area. I have seen little progress. What am I doing wrong?

More than situps will be needed to lose excess body fat. An exercise performed repeatedly (such as situps), with the hope of reducing body fat in a certain area of the body, is an exercise myth called spot reducing. Repeated situps will definitely strengthen the abdominal muscles but it will do nothing for reducing the fat surrounding these muscles. Body fat cannot be lost only in a specific area of the body. Instead, body fat is lost proportionally all over the body. The best way to shed unwanted body fat is to combine an exercise program with good dietary habits.
