Forever Healthy

Most weight loss programs and products promote quick weight loss. It sounds good, but is losing weight that fast a good idea?

No. The companies behind these programs and products know that excess weight is a problem for many people. These companies also know that it is human nature to want an easy fix so they come up with something that is glitzy, glamorous, and offers instant gratification. The programs or products are not the reason people lose weight. Instead, it is simply the fact that a person is eating less food and/or exercising. The problem with most of the programs/products is that a person must follow an extremely low calorie diet. The body perceives this as starvation and it will lower its metabolism. In addition, some muscle mass is lost, which also lowers the metabolism. The solution to a healthy weight is to establish realistic eating habits and develop a personal exercise program. The next step is to turn those new habits into positive, permanent lifestyle changes.
