I am a 25-year-old woman. If I lift weights, will I get bulky muscles like the female body builders?
You will most certainly add muscle definition through strength training, but it is highly unlikely that you will develop muscles like professional female body builders. There are two main factors besides adequate nutrition in determining the size and strength of our muscles. One of them is genetics. All of us have a limit on the size and strength of our muscles. The other limiting factor is the design of an exercise program. The exercise regimen of professional female body builders is very intense and it is almost a daily routine. In addition, most of them have the genetic predisposition for that sport and they have been training for many, many years.
