Boise Sound is a comfortable setting that encourages creativity. The studio is designed by a musician with years of experience designing functional and creative spaces for other musicians and engineers.

The environment of Boise Sound is an integration of talent and technology.   Recording can be done in either the studio or control room. Both rooms are designed and treated with performance, sound and comfort in mind.   The rooms are located below grade for sound isolation. This keeps the inside in and the outside out.  There is a one foot double wall between them to keep the rooms isolated.

Digital Performer software running on a Mac means the ultimate flexibility to support your creative process.

Nonlinear recording provides better editing control than any tape system, analog or digital.  It's also better than stand-alone digital recorders.  If you have ever tried to put together a "comp" track from 10 takes of a vocal on one of those machines you know what I mean. Even digital recorders with built-in on-screen editors can not match the control and flexibility of computer-based editing.  Full automation of mixing and real-time effect parameters is available throughout the production process.

Digital Performer has complete MIDI keyboard integration. For bringing synths and samples into your work, either to assist or augment the production, nothing beats having the two worlds of audio and MIDI combined onto one program.

Instruments and percussion:

Percussion includes different voicing of shakers and tambourines, cowbells, bells, plastic and wood gurios, a garbage crash, this noisy thing called a smasher, a "frog", viber-slap, and finger cymbals.  Three digital samplers provide an endless supply of other percussion sounds including an extensive supply of orchestral percussion.
