DTMF Functions Guide
Important
When using the Repeater to access either the IRLP or Echolink, nothing is necessary to join in a conversation that is in progress.
When dialing out there is a difference between the dialing sequences used for IRLP and Echolink. IRLP connections are dialed with just the 4 digit Node Number. Echolink connections must begin with the # sign, followed by the Node number
Make sure that you follow the guidelines listed in the KB5KZS Node Operation and Information for either of the two systems, and you should have a lot of fun with VoIP.
That's all there is!
There are also several special functions available on both of the KB5KZS nodes, that can be accessed via your touchtone pad. Enter the code, listed below, and unkey your radio and these will automatically run.
0 This function checks the status of the local node. You will hear an announcement "Node Clear" or "You are currently connect to....
*1 This is like Call Waiting. It will announce the node number and time for the last incoming and outgoing calls.
*2 This feature will announce the local time for the node you are currently connected to.
*3 This function will randomly select and automatically connect to another IRLP node. A fun way to go exploring. This feature is currently not available for Echolink connections.
*4 This function will randomly select and automatically connect to one of the IRLP Reflectors
*5 This function will announce the local time for the currently connected node.
*6 This function will announce the number of incoming connections that the node has had.
*7 This function is not available at this time.
73 Use this to disconnect the node from any connection and return it to the standby mode.
# The pound key is used as a select key for dialing Echolink nodes.
