Words of Comfort
Sent To Us By Many Of You
We received so many beautiful cards and letters of sentiment that we thought we'd share some of them with you in hope that the words and ideas will help comfort you as much as they have helped us.
When one is taken...love saves their place.
From the Tree of Life each leaf must fall - the green, the gold, the great, the small... each one in God's own time He'll call - with perfect love He gathers all.
For every sorrow, there is comfort, and for every loss, the promise of new life.
This is the tiny seed of faith that grows into the little act of trust that blossoms into one small and simple prayer that opens into a field of love and healing that completely transforms the landscape of the heart. Even one small whispered prayer can move mountains and work a healing change.
When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly. --Barbara J. Winter
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. --Inspired by an Eskimo Legend
Life is largely a process of adaptation to the circumstances in which we exist. A perennial give-and-take has been going on between living matter and its inanimate surroundings, between one living being and another, ever since the dawn of live in the prehistoric oceans. The secret of health and happiness lies in successful adjustment to the ever-changing conditions on this globe; the penalties for failure in this great process of adaptation are disease and unhappiness." -- Hans Selye, M.D. The Stress of Life
Gratitude is the memory of the heart. --French Proverb
If the eyes had no tears the soul would have no rainbow. --Native American Proverb
I am standing on the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of whit cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" "Gone where?" Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!" And that is dying. --Anonymous
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. --Helen Keller
Grief is the purest evidence that we have loved and loved well.
Noel was a beautiful flower and he continues to bloom in our hearts. He will never be forgotten.
Though you cannot always see the bird singing, if you listen with your heart, you can always hear his song. Though the ones we love may leave life as we know it, in our memory, the love we knew will always carry on.
Don't think of him as gone away--his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets--this earth is only one... Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness cam really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing love is ever lost--and he was loved so much. --E. Brenneman
When there are no words to soften the pain, may your spirit be touched by the love that surrounds you and slowly... may the healing begin.
Those we hold most dear never truly leave us... they live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared and the love they brought into our lives. --Isabel Norton
Time cannot steal the treasures that we carry in our hearts, nor ever dim the shining thoughts our cherished past imparts, and memories of the ones we've loved still cast their gentle glow to grace our days and light our paths wherever we may go.
May love heal the hurt in your heart. May strength grow from your tears. May you find peace amidst your sorrow. May your beautiful memories bathe you in comfort. May each moment in time bring you healing. May it help to know someone cares.
To gather. To grieve. To Celebrate. To praise. To mourn. To love. To remember.
As you share your stories and memories ho how he lived his life and how very much he meant may you find comfort.
Those we love and have lost are waiting for us in a place without parting... Where we'll never have to say good-bye again.
I carry you in my heart.
A Distant Shore - The sea flows on past the horizon to rest upon a shore out of our sight, the stars fade in the morning sunlight and travel to another starry night. The breeze blows quietly around us, then flies away to cool a distant space. The ones we love never really leave us, but go on to another shining place.
We can't know why some things happen... but we can know that love and beautiful memories outlast the pain of grief. And we can know that there's a place inside the heart where love lives always... and where nothing beautiful can ever be forgotten. If I've learned anything down through the years, it's that nothing beautiful in this world is ever really lost - those we cherish will always live on in memory.
Heartstrings - When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us now, wherever we are. Those whom we have cherished, live on forever, for love wraps itself around the heart. Although it's difficult now, someday beyond our tears and all the world's wrongs; beyond the clouds and all that we can see and touch, we shall all understand. --Flavia
