The Battery Combiner connects between the starting battery and additional batteries that need charging from the engine alternator. It only provides power to the auxilliary battery when the starting battery is charged and limits the amount transferred to a safe level for the alternator. It disconnects when the engine is stopped so the trolling motor won't run the starting battery down. Read details at
