Southern Utah has some amazing sights. The first place we stopped at was Zion Canyon.
Zion has some very unusual geology. This was called the Checkerboard Mesa.
After spending a day looking at Zion we traveled east to Bryce Canyon. This has to be
one of the most breathtaking places.
Just check out the background.
We spent the whole day wandering around looking at the sights. You have to go slow at
Bryce as the altitude at it's lowest was about 7,000ft. Anything to energetic and you were
out of breath in seconds. The air was so thin.
We then went further east and had a very exciting drive though the middle of some big
thunderstorms. If you look at a map of Utah you can see that from Bryce to Arches is a
long way, with nothing what so ever between the two.
Arches National Park was also very spectacular. You will have properly seen these in
books, but seeing the arches for real was great.
This is call Delicate Arch, for obvious reasons.
