Though I was horse-shopping when I found
Ali, I can't really say I chose him. No matter who I was inspecting
in the herd of colts and fillies, there was Ali looking over my shoulder,
sniffing at my face, shoving his nose under my hand.
He wanted
to come home with us, and that's all there was to it.
It's impossible
to be depressed around Ali. He thinks everything is funny except food,
which is of course a Very Important Issue and Nothing to be Sneezed At.
He's not the flashiest cabbage in the patch
, but he's strong, patient,
handsome and smart -- and hey -- out of all the humans, he picked me!
