Training

In today's fast changing world, perhaps the most important element for success will be the management of learning. Many feel that organizations have an obligation to provide training and development for employees. IDI believes that training will benefit not just to the individual contributor but the organization itself. In fact, the organization that survives and grows in the future will be the one that expects its people to grow and is willing to spend time and resources to help them do it.

What we know today will be obsolete tomorrow. How we conduct business will be altered to make way for faster and better methods. This, coupled with the fact that the employee pool is diminishing in size, means that training will continue to be the cornerstone for the thriving organization of the future. In fact, its importance will grow exponentially!

IDI offers training that is designed after the specific needs of the organization have been identified. The following categories describe training and services offered by the IDI team:

  • Leadership
  • Organizational Effectiveness
  • Individual Success in the Workplace

More than ever before, managers and leaders inside organizations are finding that changing circumstances and turbulent environments are confronting them with increasingly difficult combinations of external pressures and internal tensions. At the same time, they are faced with conflicting demands to be more flexible, responsive, responsible and creative.

The very framework of leadership has changed and changed drastically. Leaders of today need to be trained and retrained, not just to meet the technical demands of their jobs but also to meet the escalating people needs. IDI team members are not just instructors; but they also have hands-on experience in the business world. Each trainer can tell you what works and what doesn't and can teach the skills inherent in success today ¾ and tomorrow.

IDI believes in forming working relationships with individuals and organizations, not just providing products and services. We know that together we cannot fail! We ask our customers to become team members, and together we design training programs and individual seminars that actually work. Teaming supports a win/win in employee development efforts. The following describe IDI leadership training seminars and related consulting services:

The health and well-being of organizations will not only become more and more important to each of us as individual workers but as consumers and even as citizens of the world. This has never been as true as it is today, and it has never been more difficult.

In the United States we are losing competitiveness in industry after industry. Most corporations don't live as long as a person - they die before the age of forty. Only 10% of small businesses survive the first year. In the next two decades, as the baby boomers retire, the number of workers left in the work force will diminish. There exists critical weaknesses in major institutions that are required to support organizational effectiveness. One that we all are riveted on at this time is education. Globalism is winning over nationalism, which raises our dependence on other countries.

These facts, plus a myriad of others, have forced organizations to take a new look at their infrastructures and the way they generally do business. Peter Senge , author of the Fifth Discipline , The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization , states that most organizations have learning disabilities. IDI wants to help overcome these disabilities. The IDI team pledges to continually develop programs and enhance internal expertise to provide the support required by organizations. These categories represent a sample of available training and consulting services designed to enhance organizational success:

  • Developing and Maintaining High Performance Teams
  • Negotiating to Yes!
  • Interactive Decision Making
  • Diversity without Adversity
  • Total Quality Management Fundamentals
  • Performance Mentoring
  • Legendary Customer Service
  • Public Meetings Skills Training
  • Training the Facilitator/Trainer
  • Managing Change

The most successful organization of the future will be a "learning organization", one that expects its employees to grow and change -- constantly. Within such groups, individuals will be motivated to gain mastery of their chosen field and to demonstrate that mastery every day.

To make this a reality in every organization, leaders, managers and individual contributors must share a vision of success and have at their disposal resources required to make the vision a reality. One such resource is training.

In the not too distant past, training was offered exclusively to supervisors and managers and not much of that was readily available. Now, enlightened organizations are training their workers right beside the leaders.

IDI is in the forefront of this movement, supporting the premise that good employees make managers look good. Examples of seminar subjects designed for IDI customers include but are not limited to:

  • Individual Success in the Workplace
  • Oral Presentations that Make People Listen!
  • Creative Conflict Resolution
  • Communicating with Confidence
  • Personal and Professional Effectiveness
  • Dealing with Difficult People
  • Legendary Customer Service
  • The Nuts and Bolts of Assertiveness
  • Self Empowerment
  • Becoming an Indispensable Employee in a Disposable World
  • Being Your Own Change Agent
  • Stress and Burnout
