Mr. Ibach was born in Moorhead on January 3, 1962 at St. Ansgar’s hospital at 6:20 P.M. He was 20 inches long and weighed 8 lbs. He grew up in Fargo and attended Clara Barton Elementary, Agassiz Junior High, and Fargo South High.  He went on to graduate from N.D.S.U. in 1985 with a major in Business Administration.  After working at Hornbacher’s foods for several years, he went back to school to get a teaching degree.  He graduated from Moorhead State University in 1994 after student teaching for Mr. Wieser at Horace Mann. Upon graduation, Mr. Ibach was hired as a Title 1 teacher at Horace Mann and he did this for the rest of that year and the next. In the summer of 1996, Mr. Ibach was hired as a 6th grade teacher at Washington Elementary.  After one year at Washington, he transferred back to Horace Mann and he’s been there ever since.  He has taught 6th grade for three years, 5th grade for one year, and has taught 5/6, 4/5, and 5/6 combination classes the past three years. This year Mr. Ibach is back to teaching 6th grade. This is his eighth year as a classroom teacher in Fargo.

Mr. Ibach is very active in coaching.  During the summer he coaches the Fargo American Legion Baseball team. Mr. Ibach coached Babe Ruth baseball in Fargo for 14 years, the 16 year-old Legion team (the Bombers) for 5 years, and next summer will be his 4th season as the head coach of the Fargo Post #2 Legion baseball team in Fargo. He also coaches girls' basketball at Ben Franklin Junior High School during the Winter. He has done this for the past six years. He coached 7th graders for four years, 8th graders for one year, and 9th graders last year. Mr. Ibach has also coached some high school baseball in the area. He coached the Fargo South High School JV team in its first year of existence (1995). He was the assistant varsity coach at Fargo North High School for two years (1998 and 1999). This spring, he is returning to the high school ranks as a freshman coach at Fargo South.

Mr. Ibach married Raquel Kilen in Greenbush, Minnesota on June 8th of 2002.  Miss Kilen was born and raised in Greenbush.  She and Mr. Ibach are now living in West Fargo, North Dakota where she is a physical education teacher at the high school. Their first child, Emmett Thomas Ibach, was born at Innovis Hospital at 10:43 on Saturday November 1st. He weighed in at 8pounds 5 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long.
