M47, Puppis, Stellarvue SV78S f6, MX7C, IDAS, 5min

M47 is another nice galactic open cluster well situated in the winter sky.  Most of the brighter members are B and A type stars.  The distance to M47 is estimated to be 1500 light years and its thought to be rather young in age and similar to the Pleiades.
