This image of IC434 and B33 (Horsehead Nebula) was taken with my 80mm Stellarvue Achromat refractor under typical suburban skies. The bright bluish glow on the left side is from the bright star Zeta Orionis. IC434 and the Horsehead nebula is thought to be approx 1200 light years distant. It is thought that Zeta Orionis illuminates the red emmision nebula IC434. Just below and to the left of the Horsehead is the nebula NGC 2023.
