Guitar Music & Tabs |
| The songs on this page were mostly arranged by me for
fingerstyle guitar. There are a few traditional classical songs that are not my
arrangements. The songs here are in three different formats so that most players
will be able to view them through one program or another. You will need one or
the programs in order to view the songs. |
 |
Power Tab is a a great program that displays, enters, edits and
prints songs in both standard musical notation and tablature. It is easy to use,
and best of all it is free. You can click on the logo below and download the
program free. There are thousands of songs posted on the net in this format. |
 |
Guitar pro is a similar program. Although it does cost for the
program, it is not expensive and easily worth the money and more. It will import
Power Tab songs and Tabledit songs. Please support these fine programmers and
pay for the program. It will give you many years of use and pleasure. Thousands
of songs are posted on the net in this format. It is a program all serious
guitar players should have. Below is the link where you may download the
program. |

Tabledit is another get tool for musicians who want to enter,
edit, view or print music. It also displays and prints in either notation or
tablature or both together. It is in the same class with the other programs
listed above. I own and recommend all three. Tabledit is also very reasonably
priced and worth every penny. It also has the ability to open Tabrite files or
Power Tab files. Please support the fine job these programmers do. It makes life
easier and better for us musicians. You can find this program by clicking the
link below.

If you just want to view the files but have no interest in
editing them. There is a free viewer for the Tabledit files available here. ( I
do recommend the full version rather than just the viewer.) |

Now for the songs. Click the format to the right of the song you
wish to download and enjoy! |

Because I have had so many e-mails complaining about difficulty opening
these files, I would like to try give you the solution before you e-mail
me. Many people comment that they double click on the file and only get
a bunch of nonsense squares and lines. Not all browsers understand a TEF
or GP5 or PTB extentions, and therefore try to open the file using
notepad. This results in some unreadable nonsense. Sometimes the browser
understands the extension if the program was installed after the user
started using the particular browser. Even on my own computer, I use
Firefox and I can't open the files online. With Windows Explorer I have
no trouble opening them online. But without changing browsers, there is
an easy solution to this problem. Simply right-click on the file and
tell your computer to save the file to a location on your hard drive.
Then open the file with the appropriate program (Powertab, GuitarPro,
Tabledit or Tefview.) Also, once it is on your hard drive, it is
possible to double-click on the file from "My Computer" or
"Windows Explorer" since the computer does recognize these
extensions. This should solve the problem.
You might also note that many of the songs are only offered in TEF
format. The songs I posted earlier were entered using Powertab and
converted to Guitarpro and Tabledit. I found a number of bugs in the
Powertab program and no sign of a fix for several years, so I switched
to Tabledit. I love the program and highly recommend it. My recently
posted songs are only in TEF format.
Another point concerns the level of difficulty. These songs were all
arranged for my students over a period of 40 years of teaching, so they
are on a variety of levels. It has been suggested that I label each with
their level of difficulty. As of this time I have not. The level of
difficulty is often a matter of personal opinion. If you like a
particular tune, give it a try. If it is too difficult, save it for a
later time in your musical career. Enjoy the arrangements. Feel
free to contact me with comments or requests. I am retired now and will
take the time to answer you.
