HONDA SABRE 1100cc
I bought this bike on eBay and had it shipped from Ft. Worth, Texas back in 2005. When I saw her, she jumped off the page at me, and I knew that she would be my next motorcycle.

A windshield, floorboards, backrest, luggage rack, hand grips, saddle bags, and better tires were added. The seat was sent to Americana Soft Seats in New Jersey for a Gel Insert and added foam which made for a wonderfully comfortable ride. She only had 5500 miles.

YAMAHA V-STAR 1300cc
This is my latest project. A 2007 V-Star Tourer with 6700 miles. I wanted to put together a comfortable touring bike with a little more punch than the Sabre, but not near the brute force of the Warrior. I wanted taller gearing for running interstates at 75-85mph when necessary. The V-Star has an 80ci V-Twin, is liquid cooled, fuel injected, and has belt drive. Fourth gear is equal to fifth gear on the Sabre so fifth is a true overdrive that will handle 80+ mph cruising. The Tourer Model comes with hard bags, a passenger backrest and a large windscreen. I will add a tachometer, driving lights, a luggage rack, lowers, and a few miscellaneous touches, but the engine, pipes, etc. will remain stock.

HONDA HORNET 919cc
The 919 Hornet Sport Bike was another eBay purchase. I thought I needed an adrenalin rush and after much reading I decided on the fuel injected 919. This time it was 2006 and I flew to L.A. and rode the bike back. 1200 miles with a detour through Yosemite National Park and giggles all the way. This bike is a 2003 and also had 1600 miles on her. Lots of carbon fiber parts and a Yoshimura exhaust system. I added the Sargent Seat and the Plexifairing III for comfort and the Power Commander III which smoothed out the power and maximized the bikes performance. You don't grab a handful of throttle in first gear unless you want to watch the front end go airborne.

THE STAR WARRIOR 1800cc
1770cc (108 cubic inches) V-Twin OHV engine with 4 valves and two spark plugs per cylinder. 105bhp. 121ft.lbs. torque. Big Bore Kit with 10.25:1 pistons, Ported and Polished Heads with Oversized Valves (Patrick Racing). Race Cams. Modified Throttle Bodies (Orient Express). Big Air Kit (Barons). Vance and Hines Pro Pipe. Power Commander III. Custom Chrome Wheels, Pulleys, and Guards. Lots of billet. Aluminum frame, 640lbs. wet. This bike weighs 200 lbs. more than the Hornet and pulls just about as hard.
The Sabre runs the quarter mile in 13.80 sec. The V-Star in 13.14. The Hornet in 11.14 sec. The Warrior in 11.35 sec. 0-60 on the Hornet and Warrior is around 3.2 seconds.

BMW 650cc Dual Sport
When I got the bug to dual sport the graveled and dirt backroads of the area I did a extensive search of machines and came up with the G650GS as the only real fit. The 30.5" seat height was the clincher. The other features helped to justify the extra cost over similar bikes: Fuel injection, ABS, hotter engine, underseat fuel tank (lower center of gravity), etc. The fact that I got 68 miles per gallon on my first tank of fuel with most of that riding on gravel and dirt didn't hurt matters either. 423lbs. wet. Quarter mile in 13.5 sec.
