Roman Attraction

(view pedigree here)

1/31/06     4/12/06

2003 stallion by ART I SWEET, out of SKIPA FRECKLE JAGUAR. He measured 17HH as a 2 year old and is now a little over 17H at 3.  "Roman"  has a wonderful personality and a big gentle heart. He is so gentle that he used to allows me to sit on him bareback without a halter, free in his pen, slide off either side, and stretch out over his neck and hug him--and he was not broke yet. He was separated from a broodmare by only an electric fence and was able to visit over the top of it.

Roman has now been sent to training. He is an incredibly fast learner. He is going well under saddle and I hope to be able to show him this year.

I've been riding him at the trainers to learn his movement and monitor his progress. He is picking up on things in a matter of days. He is very smart, yet so laid back, too. On my third ride I lost my stirrups and a rein, but Roman never missed a stride nor stirred with me scrambling on him to regain these things. There are many young colts just starting out that would not be able to handle this kind of erratic movement on their back. He's like a big gelding in his temperament. It's really wonderful!

Roman has lovely conformation with a gorgeous face. His stifle is outstanding in size and strength. He is a pleasantly well balanced for a horse of this size. He is a real eye-catcher. Roman was raised at Everett Acres. He is in the IF and NSBA, futurity eligible-silver level.

DE KEY TO MY ART

FOR SALE

2003 mare by World Champion ARTFUL MOVE out of ROM producer and race winner Bejilla's Jewel (TB). "Emma" is currently 16.2 H and growing. This is a lovely mover who is also very athletic! She has good soft suspension in her trot. She would make a super HUS/H. Hack/Jumper prospect. IF and NSBA gold level. Solid sorrel with flaxen mane.  Raised at Everett Acres.

GCH GOING PLACES

1998 appendix mare by World Champion LAST DETAIL out of BLUES LUCK. "CeeCee" is 16.0h exactly. She is a pretty mover but can no longer be ridden due to a past injury. She was broke and trained briefly by Pat Baily, then ridden lightly before a previous injury began to cause problems. The only way to preserve her longevity was to stop riding her. Thanks to her great bloodlines, she will be a valuable asset to our breeding program.

BEJILA'S JEWEL (TB)

1988 mare by Bejilla ($217,112) out of Dont Rock The Boat. "BJ" herself is a money earning race winner herself and was fully nominated to the prestigious Breeders' Cup. BJ is 16.1-16.2H tall with a beautiful neck and long floating stride. She had a foal by SKY BLUE BOY in 2005 (see "Popeye"-below). BJ is the dam of  DE KEY TO MY ART pictured above. BJ came from Dragonfly Farm in Tennessee.

CANT TOUCH THIS BLUE  ("Popeye")

This is our newest member of the family, CANT TOUCH THIS BLUE (a.k.a. "Popeye"). His dam is BJ (above). This not so little guy was 42" at birth. Popeye is a dark red chestnut color that is turning gray.

Popeye is by SKYS BLUE BOY and was born April 25, 2005. He is a half sibling to DE KEY TO MY ART (above). Popeye is very curious and bold. He started eating solid food in his 2nd week of life. He also went over to the fence and started picking on the horses on the other side, bigger and older horses. He thought he was just as big as them.

Popeye is a full brother to FULL OF RHYTHMNBLUES who was trained by Dianne Eppers . "Rhythm" began showing in her 3 yr. old year and earned a ROM in just about 30 days of ever showing AQHA. Her picture can be found in the October 2003 AQHA Journal on pages 277 and 301 and in the April 2006 journal. Popeye is the only full sibling to Rhythm and you can definitely tell they are siblings. Talk about incredible movement...OH, MY GOSH! This colt has real potential to be a World Champion. This is the naturally best gaited new foal I've ever seen. And that means he is following in his sister's footsteps. This colt is top, TOP Hunter Under Saddle prospect. He could also do the hunter classes as I've seen him float over a pole on the ground. This is the kind of horse you always dream of owning, but know you maybe never will.... Popeye is really growing now and is going to be a tall boy.

GOOD LIABILITY

FOR SALE

2000 gelding by GOOD ASSET out of LIBEL TO INVEST (granddaughter of  THE BIG INVESTMENT). "Joe" as he's called was purchased as a 4 year old and green broke. I took him on a trail ride in a metropolitan area near Dallas. He crossed bridges over major rivers, rode under a major US interstate highway overpass with traffic whizzing overhead, traveled through neighborhoods with a motorcycle police escort, and went along the top of a levee near Lone Star Park Race Track. He was fabulous! He is still green but you never, never would have known it on the trail ride. He was a true pleasure to ride and better behaved than the guide horse in front of him on the trail.

SKIPA FRECKLE JAGUAR

1998 mare by FRECKLES GRAY GHOST out of WENLOCH ANNIE see below). "Jag" is a great granddaughter of  the great COLONEL FRECKLES and CUSTUS JAGUAR. At 16.1hands, she produces beautiful English foals for me. She has a super gentle personality which she passes on to her foals. Injured in a fence, she was not ever broke. Jag is the dam of our stallion Roman Attraction. She is also the dam of a gray gelding (NEVER BETTER MAGIC) by World Champion producer Never Bend Better(TB). Never Better Magic was sold to Ms. Gentry of North Carolina. Magic was raised at Everett Acres.

WENLOCH ANNIE

1989 mare by HI YALLER SHOWBARS out of JAGS WENLOCH LADY. Annie was starving and neglected when I found and purchased her. She was originally raised by former AQHA President, the late Dr. G. O'Conner. Annie has been a broodmare most of her life producing 10 registered foals thus far. She has had both English and western type foals. Annie is a good mother with great instincts. She foals easily and has been a wonderful producer for me. I purchased one of her offspring FRECKLES BAR GHOST which I showed lightly. He led me to find and purchase Annie and her filly SKIPA FRECKLE JAGUAR(above), Ghost's full sister. I sold Ghost to a lady in Maryland who competes in Dressage. He was a highest scoring Quarter Horse at for the dressage organization his owner belongs to. Annie is out to pasture this year. She had a foal in '04 "Jack" pictured below.

His sire is a proven producer of jumping, eventing, and dressage horses. As you can see, he will be gray. He is light on his feet and very athletic. His full brother sold just as a weanling. Jack is for sale. Get him now while he is still low priced and save a bundle! Incentive Fund enrolled.
