
CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
dava teaches colored pencil painting for adults in small studio classes. Classes are kept to no more than 6 students each and are scheduled as interest demands.
dava is also available to teach one or two-day workshops for groups or organizations. The workshops can be developed from the topics listed below and designed to meet the groups interests. The typical workshop day runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm with a one hour lunch break.

CLASSES OFFERED
Beginning Colored Pencil (four two hour sessions) This class teaches four basic techniques for working with the colored pencil medium. Students should be familiar with drawing but do not need to be advanced in their skills. The object of this class is to give the student enough information to continue to explore the colored pencil medium at their own pace.
Start to Finish (four two-hour sessions) This class is for students who have at least basic skills with the colored pencil and wish to have guidance in the complete process of planning and executing a finished piece of colored pencil art.
Basket Weaves a one-session class in understanding and drawing woven textures. Student must be familiar with basic colored pencil techniques.
Fabrics and Folds a one-session class aimed at helping the student understand light and technique considerations needed when depicting fabrics and folds. Student must be familiar with basic colored pencil techniques.
Working in Mixed Media a one-day workshop during which the student will explore the steps necessary to combine colored pencil with various leafing materials. Student must be familiar with basic colored pencil techniques.
Colored Pencil on Mylar a one-day workshop designed to introduce the student to working on a frosted acrylic surface. Student must be familiar with basic colored pencil techniques.
Working on a Three-dimensional Surface a one-day workshop in which the student will plan and execute a design on a papier mache box using colored pencils. Student must be familiar with basic colored pencil techniques.
