Area X of The American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) includes the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. We are dedicated to advancing the musical art of handbell/handchime ringing through education, community and communication.  Currently there are approximately 430 members in Area X.  Most memberships are held by choirs with some individual memberships which means we serve over 3500 ringers and directors.

Each member receives our bimonthly newsletter, The Northwest Campanologist, which provides information on what is going on in the area. Also included are helpful articles on various handbell and handchime topics.

During June of each even year, an area-wide conference is held which attracts 500 to 700 ringers and directors. One or two guest clinicians conduct ringing sessions ranging from eight to ten choirs to everyone in attendance – about 100 choirs! There are also many learning opportunities for ringers and directors through the classes offered.

Many local and regional events are also offered throughout the year. These are planned by Area X board members as well as choirs and individuals in the area.

If you are part of a handbell or handchime choir and would like more information about AGEHR and Area 10, please contact Shosh Meyer (Membership) shoshm@smlcfamily.org.
