What Is Question Authority

Question Authority is a five member original Hard Rock band whose roots are in Boise, Idaho. The five members of QA include three brothers - Mike Trull (Guitar/Vocals), Chris Trull (Drums), and Jeremy Trull (Bass) - along with J.K Weaver (Guitars) and Justin Hursh (Vocals).

The band was formed in 1991 with Mike Trull (Guitar), and his brother Jeff Trull (Vocals), along with Brett Sundgaard (Drums), and Kelly Watson (Bass).

Kelly Watson (Bass) left the band in mid 1992 and was replaced by Jeremy Trull.

Brett Sundgaard (Drums) left the group in mid 1993 and was replaced by Chris Trull.

Question Authority performed with the four Trull brothers for the next two years until Jeff (Vocals) left the band to relocate to Colorado. Rob Shelton filled this vacancy with his voice when he joined QA in 1995.

Question Authority maintained that lineup until 2001, when J.K. Weaver brought his lead guitar talents to the group.

Since 1998, Question Authority has promoted local music from around Idaho by presenting and producing Rock The Mountain. Rock The Mountain is a multi-day Rock and Roll Camping experience where musicians camp - and provide entertainment for each other by performing on the Question Authority stage in the Idaho mountain forest.

The following year, the idea was expanded to the local scene with what has become known as Rock The Lot. This event has grown over the years, and along with Rock The Mountain, it has become an annual staple in the local summer music scene.

In June of 2002, QA was crowned Champions of Bogie's and Jim Beam's Battle of the Bands competition in Boise, Idaho. After five months of fierce competition between over seventy bands, Question Authority gained the title.

In June of 2005, after a 10-year journey with Question Authority, Rob Shelton departed the band for personal reasons.

Question Authority spent the next several months regrouping and focusing on the future shape of the band. QA was once again complete when the available front-man slot was filled with longtime friend and fan of Question Authority, Justin "J-Bone" Hursh.

Today, Question Authority continues to expand their musical horizons and creep further towards the edge of their genre, while consistently providing entertainment for their current fans as well as their future fans.

" The idea is neither to suppress, nor to antagonize Authority, but rather to Question the rights, wrongs, and/or consequences of the decisions made and the actions taken by those people who have been chosen to lead us into the future."
