Schools
With the completion and opening of the new middle school in the fall of 1996, the New Plymouth School District now has three schools.  The elementary school houses 455 students, grades K-5; the middle school has 240 students, grades 6-8; and the high school has an enrollment of 260 students.  Total staff includes approximately 120 employees for District #372.  The high school was built in 1985 after a fire in 1984 destroyed the original junior-senior high school which was built in 1939.  The high school offers a complete accredited curriculum including vocal and instrumental music, drama, vocational programs, industrial technology and a gifted program.  Computer instruction is integrated and emphasized in all three schools.  The athletic program includes all major and most minor sports.  In conjunction with the high school, there is a lighted football field, baseball and softball fields, and an all-weather track.  The elementary school is a fully modern facility that enjoys a large playground area.  The student-teacher ratio is good.
