The following photos show the construction of Batleth and Mekleth, Please explore the files of the IKV Melota for more tips to construct your weapons.

pattern laid out on a 1" grid, of course only half of the Batleth is shown and would have to be mirrored on your 3/4" plywood.

Lay out your patterns on 3/4" plywood and drill holes in the waste to make cutting easier.

Make dust.

Watch your fingers.

Little something to scare the hood.

Round over them corners.

Looking good.

Get a hold of a couple water weenies and cut a 3/4" slice out of them.

Once again, watch them fingers.

You will need to cut a few 45's to make the points look right.

You will need to run a piece of 100 mile an hour tape on the inside of both sides of the channel, half of the strip will be out.

A second piece will run on the outside and cover the sticky side of the inner tape.

This gives a good lip to staple the padding to your wood.

Where the corners are joined, be sure plenty of padding extends beyond the wood and secure.

Padding in place we can now start the wrap.

The tape must overlap so every inch will have at least two layers of armor.

Glorious.

I had success with the one wiener wrap.

Add a tail piece for a backslash.

Lets go thump some Feddies!

Qaupla!

On my list of things to accomplish in this life, is to sit across a camp fire and split a barrel of blood wine with this warrior.
