Performances:
Our next event is our biannual show. Shimmy Sisters, Oasis Dancers, Middle Eastern Dance students and special guests will be performing Saturday September 12th at the Beckwith Auditorium on NDSU Campus. Show begins at 7:30 pm. Contact Rita for details. Contact Rita if interested in booking family entertainment.
Belly Dance Enthusiasts' Meetings
Ongoing meetings are held at
Oasis
515 Oak St. in north Fargo.
Membership Dues for the fall are is $75 for 10 weeks. Classes will start the first week in October and there will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Eve. 2010 dues are to be paid at the beginning of January, March, May, July (2nd week), September, and November.
Hours: No beginner meetings at this time. A relaxed paced of Intermediates are meeting at 5:30 on Wednesdays. Also an Intermediate class is being held at 7:00 on Wednesdays. Meetings will last for an hour and a half.
There is no advanced class at this time.
We are proud to announce that we have a student performance group at this time. Oasis dancers are students through Oasis dance club who want more opportunities to perform.
Classes at Moorhead Community Education
We teach classes through
Moorhead Community Education
in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Beginner class is on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at Horizon Middle School in Moorhead Minnesota. Classes are an hour and a half and run for eight weeks. Cost is currently $63 with a discount for Moorhead residents. See their brochure for more details.
We also teach seminars through Moorhead Community Education. These are 2 hour classes for one Saturday in the Fall and in the Spring. Those classes are "Introduction to Belly Dancing" and "Taking Belly Dance Moves to the dance floor".

Past events include: Grand Cities Artfest on June 14th 2009. Hafla in September of 2008. Potato Days in Barnsville, August 22, 2008; Biannual Fundraiser February 16, 2008. A Woman's Perspective in February, 2008; Pangea in November of 2007; Potato Days in Barnsville in August 2007; annual meeting of the Lake Agassiz Arts Council in June 2007; A Woman's Perspective', February 5th 2007; February 17, 2007 a fundraiser for The Spirit Room; Pangea on November 4th 2006; Riverfest August 22nd 2006; February 18, 2006, 2nd Biannual fundraiser for Rape and Abuse.
We have been busy going to workshops in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Las Vegas and are excited to have learned new dance steps, styles, and choreography.
