If you love what's unique about our Coast and you want to protect what we have left of our unique culture while ensuring economic growth, now is the time to step up to the plate and see that your local and state officials adopt the recommendations of the October Mississippi Renewal Forum.  The MSRC is a diverse group of Gulf Coast residents which has come together to promote sound rebuilding policies in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Among the most important outcomes of the charette process hosted by the Governor's Commission on Rebuilding, Restoration and Renewal was a local plan for U.S. Highway 90 which allows that artery to function as an attractive, pedestrian-friendly beachfront boulevard in Biloxi and Gulfport, and to host mixed residential and commercial development in Ocean Springs and other towns. This local plan received broad support from across the Coast..

It's up to us — the residents of the Coast who care about the place and its long-term future as a healthy, beautiful place to live with opportunity and quality of life for all its residents — to see that our politicians toe the line and make the difficult choices now, rather than making choices that will make our future more difficult.
