NGB Minutes
With the gap between our huge Teen/Jr. and Mens Open programs widening in terms of number of participants, it was decided that next year the Teen & Jr's will be combined with the Men's Nationals. The plan is that this will give those lifters a natural progression from one level to the next.

Raw was established as belt, wrist wraps, singlet and an optional neoprene knee sleeve.

After that, a Raw Nationals was established for 2008 and the 1st one will be in St. Louis.

The idea of establishing a minimum qualifying total to make our U.S. World team was voted down. The idea would have used an average from the previous three years and some percentage of that average. The thought was that it would prevent a much greener lifter from going to the Worlds and allow for a stronger World team when someone who has met the proposed qualifying standards might be able to get us team points. It was voted down and team spots are still determined by winning your weight class.

Future Meets
A raw division will be offered at all future USAPL Iowa meets. I plan on retiring the Police and Fire Records and replacing them with raw records.
As of July 15th any Iowa state records must be submitted on an official Iowa state record form, signed and received by me  within 30 days of the contest for recognition. Forms are available online under the links section.

Membership
As of the second quarter our Iowa membership is currently 64 members. We have a need for  people to volunteer their time and become referees  and help drug free powerlifting grow in Iowa. Contact me if you want to get involved.
