I suppose that in the vernacular of the day, I'd be considered an "Ultra Right Wing Conservative". As I believe that is exactly the title which was applied to the Founding Fathers, I plead Guilty!!
My basic belief as to the role of the Federal Government is what is spelled out in the Constitution. The government should insure freedom of commerce, protect our shores against foreign enemies, regulate imports and exports, and very little else.
The Federal government has become, in recent years, the single largest enemy to capitalism and free enterprise. Over regulation, bureaucratic meddling, and inept and dis-honest administration is now the norm in America. We spend an inordinate amount of our time and resources in promoting agendas which are anti-family, and anti-free enterprise.
It is my contention that in the entire history of this nation, including Richard Nixon, Lindon B. Johnson, and John Kennedy, there has never been an occupant of the Whitehouse as corrupt and void of Character and morality as was that man known as "Bubba", -- one William Jefferson Clinton!! It is my contention that the stain of his Presidency will show itself for as long as this nation exists. Even the spin by liberal members of the media cannot undo the damage that one man has inflicted upon the character of our nation.
Only a country with a selfish majority would overlook such basic flaws in an individual and elect him to be their leader.
Bill Clinton, by any measure one may choose to use, is totally lacking in morality and integrity. It has unfortunately, lowered the bar for the present generation as to proper respect for those God given principles which should govern us all.
It is my hope that the presidency of George W. Bush will help to dim that stain. It is my further hope that whatever he may do during his presidency, he will be a decent and honorable man as I believe was his father before him. While I did not agree with all of the actions of his father, I am sure I will find disagreement with some of his policies and proposals. However, if I can continue to believe as I do now, that his actions and policies are based in an honest effort for the good of the nation, I will applaud his presidency.
Now if only we could elect a congress which would vote for the good of the nation instead of the good of their re-election efforts, my hope for the success of this great land would be greatly enlarged. The greed of many Americans, coupled with their total ignorance of the basic principles of a Democratic Republic has led most in this nation to believe that whatever the majority wants should be the actions of the National Government.
It was once noted that this Nation would only survive and maintain it's greatness until the people found that they could vote themselves benefits from the Public Treasury-----
