Our story starts in 1961 in the obstetrics suite
at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. George, the intern was
in charge; Beth, the student nurse was the fastest getting her gloves
on, and therefore was able to deliver the baby. It didn’t
take long for us to realize we were meant for each other, and we were
married that September.
After our training was completed we moved, with a
new daughter, to Southern California, where we lived for 35 years.
George practiced pediatric medicine, while Beth practiced labor
and delivery nursing.
We thought ourselves as dog people. But
many years later, in the 80’s we fell for our first kitten.
Several cat shows later we acquired our first pedigreed
Abyssinian and started showing and breeding. It took a while, but
we learned the ropes, and eventually were the proud owners of Lucy, a
regional winner.
Along
the way we discovered Turkish Vans, and now breed and show
both Abyssinians and Turkish Vans. We love both breeds.
We came to understand and value the special
intelligence of our
cats. We share our home and our
affection with them.
Now we are both retired and
live with our cats in a
home in Prescott,
Arizona. We travel to cat shows in
all the Southwestern
states.
