Ada is located in the rolling hills of southeastern Oklahoma. It is home to a four-year university, East Central University, a world-class EPA water laboratory, the State's law-enforcement training center, and the headquarters of the Chickasaw Nation. Ada is an Oklahoma Main Street City, a Certified City, a Tree City USA member, and a National Weather Service StormReady Community.

| Pre-Paid Legal Services opened their new multi-million dollar world headquarters in Ada at the start of 2004. Presently, the corporation provides employment to more than 700 area workers. |

Among Ada's most beautiful and recognizable features is Francis Wintersmith Park. Situated on 150 acres, the woodland park features a lake, a swimming pool, basketball and softball facilities, horseshoe courts, eight picnic pavilions, a one and a half mile lighted walking trail, and historic Wintersmith Lodge.

Established in 1986, the Pontotoc Technology Center provides vocational education to districts encompassing all of Pontotoc County, the southern portion of Seminole County, Eastern Hughes County, Northern Johnston County, and portions of Murray and Coal Counties. |
